Yes he deserves a god damn rematch! He probably won't get it though, Roach and Khan will just come up with some bullsht saying that Maidana priced himself out or some sh*t.
Anything could happen in a rematch. Maidana could KO Khan in the first, Khan could KO Maidana in the first lol. Has to happen again.
You got to love Maidana, guys a warrior.
Yes and I would pay to see it. I'm so glad that Khan won but Maidana impressed me so much. Such a scary little guy, constantly marching forward- like a little Marciano.
Not immediately. Give him an Ortiz rematch, a Peterson fight or the loser of Bradley-Alexander. They're fighting to establish the best at 140 unnecessary rematches could lead to rubber matches and then we'd have to wait 3 years to have a definitive answer to best of the division. Khan clearly won the fight and he needs to fight the winner on Bradley-Alexander, worry about rematches after a true 140lb champ has been established.
the fans and maidana deserve a rematch. i think it's going to be on the same card as the following rematches:
Roy Jones-Glen Johnson
Cunningham-Huck
Lennox V Vitali
Pavlik-Martinez
The fight would again be entertaining; everybody loves the street fighter vs the boxer. But the question is: Does He deserve the fight. IMO Maidana needs to get back in the gym and work his way up to the rematch.
He does but it's not going to happen. Khan will run from Maidana until he has no choice. Maidana should work on his footwork and cutting off the ring so next time Khan can't do all that running and clinching.
well.. it seems that even with the loss, maidana stocks just went up....
this kid can keep creating a buzz for himself....
whos promoting marcos?? Golden boy?
Yes, but Khan should fight the Bradley/Alexander winner first and Maidana the loser. Then if they both win those fights or whoever win those fights should fight next. Sort of an unofficial 140-lb tournament with the winner being the unified champion.
if maidana can string some wins together he's absolutely earned a rematch
only problem is that the money probably wont be right for a fight w/ a puncher as dangerous as maidana
a couple right hands straght and down the middle and kahn is coming off a Kayo loss
Maidana definitely deserves a rematch. He may have lost the decision, but he won the war. He put some serious hurt on khan after falling so far behind in the early rounds. Cortez bailed khan out numerous times which was reprehensible but it was still fight of the year material..who wouldn't want a foty rematch, other than people afraid for khan's well being? Sadly though, I doubt a rematch will ever materialize, Amir wants no more part of Maidana..can't say I blame him. I hope this puts to rest any serious talk of manny or Floyd/khan bout being competitive..
He almost lost by KO to Ortiz too, but Maidana doesn't stay down, and he was just as close to knocking Khan out.
I don't think Maidana was ever in trouble against Ortiz like he was in the last few seconds of the 1st round with Khan
Maidana should get a couple impressive wins next and then a rematch. That guy can ko anyone in the 140 division. But maybe by that time Khan will be at 147.

Well I thought Saturday night was more an indictment of how overrated Ortiz is. Maidana has a puncher's chance, that's it. Aside from that, he brings nothing to the dance.
