Last night Khan-Maidana Roy Jones was on point as usual. While Lampley and Merchant were celebrating every punch Khan threw Roy was pointing out all of the good shots Maidana was landing. He even predicted the overhand right catching Khan's jaw and causing problems. It was exactly the punch that turned the fight to. Roy is consistently good calling the action, even back in the late 90s when he first started he was impressive.

yeah man, he is great commentator.
first time i seen him was pacman-morales 1, and he comment the last round beautifully.
Roy is my dude and Id be happy if they brought him back permanently, but he could have mentioned the 9lb weight difference about 100 less times in the Ortiz fight.
Why would they mind. As it stands now Manny is a bigger threat then Floyd to surpassing them. Ask anybody, experts, media, fighters, fans. Most will say, as far as legacy is concerned, Manny > then Floyd. If Floyd retires now that is what it will be. If Floyd beats Manny on the other hand, then he would be a real competition for surpassing their greatness. Why would they coax floyd into fighting Manny by saying he is ducking him. if you believe as most fans do, including me, that Floyd is the favorite, I predicted Floyd by UD in a close one, but also see it the other way, why would they want that fight? It doesn't make sense.
It's laughable to believe that considering those guys fought when 15 round bouts at full weight limits for championships were around.
Coax...? Why would Arum, Pacquiao, and Roach lie about agreeing to drug testing and keep raving about how Mayweather's "ducking" yet not try to put the bout together that's been asked for and instead opting for anyone not named Mayweather?
I don't care who you predict because Pacquiao hasn't agreed to testing when that's the lone issue that's prevented this event from happening since day one. Also, it's kind of hard to predict one winner when you "also see it the other way."
Mayweather's competing with those guys. Don't think for a moment that those guys don't want Mayweather to fail. Mayweather's extremely vocal about how he believes he's better than Leonard, Ali, Robinson, all of them... they'd love for him to lose.
I'm pretty sure Hank Aaron didn't want his HR record to be broken especially by guys with speculation swarming around them.

What about other fighters Duran, Hagler, I think Hearns and SRL were also suggesting floyd afraid to lose his 0 etc. they have suggested the same thing are they being defensive as well?

Exactly. Which is why Holyfield has done interviews saying the same things as well.

Roy Jones is the man on the mic. Usually, when top sportsmen become analysts they are boring and state the complete obvious, sounding wooden and inarticulate. Jones didn't put a foot wrong all night analytically and he always had something interesting to say.
Considering Roy was once accused and investigated for being on some stuff his opinion is not surprisingly defensive.

what part of the fight did he mention that?
He did not mention it during the fight but he has mentioned it in interview. I am just agreeing that Roy is on point in analyzing boxing.

He was most on point when he said Floyd is ducking Manny.
GL: Are you aware of the ongoing crisis surrounding the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight? "Most definitely."
GL: Do you have an opinion on it?
RJ: "You could see Pacquiao's side, why should he change for Floyd? A fight don't start in the ring, it starts when the negotiation starts. If these are the rules, we're going to stick by the standard rules. On the other hand, I understand he's saying something been going on, but the problem with that is, if you're going to check him why didn't you check Marquez? Why didn't you make anybody else do it? It's kind of strange to call him out on this and nobody else."
GL: Do you see anything in Pacquiao that would lead you to feel suspicious?
RJ: "No. The kid is strong, he came up in weight and brought his stregth. Nowadays the testing is good enough, they got it to where you can't even take over the counter products. I can testify to that. The testing is very good right now and there's nothing he could really do that they can't find. Why make Pacquiao take the test and not anybody else?"
Roy Jones knows his ****.

Roy is ****ing garbage. I got sick of hearing about God saving people and how weight means you can take a punch. And everyone saw that right hand coming. Khan probably knew it was a matter of time.
Didn't even need Larry there last night. I crack up listening to Roy laugh at the stupid **** Larry says. Roy gives great insight on what's going on in the fight and what is likely to happen. I enjoy his commentary over Tarver's.
