Let me just start this off by saying im a huge fan of Ortiz. I like his style, hes got good punching power, and solid speed. He's got a good attitude about everything and hes just on overall cool guy....but he blew a KO win last night. He had Peterson is deep **** in the 3rd round and didn't finish the job. There were even points in the fight where Peterson still looked a little off balanced and Ortiz wasnt throwing, ultimately letting Peterson back into the fight. WHat do you guys think this was all about?
The only thing I can think of is that by winning the 3rd round 10-7, in only a 10 round fight Ortiz knew he had a huge advantage on the cards, and tried to run out the clock without taking punishment and get the UD.
He should have gotten Peterson out of there when he had the chance. I dont know whether to feel that Ortiz let me down or if Peterson is really that game. Either way I feel like it was a fight Ortiz SHOULD have won. He wasn't robbed like some people have been saying. I personally had Ortiz winning by 1 point, but a draw is perfectly legit because he didn't do enough to win the later rounds. He let off the gas significantly in the middle rounds. Where does Ortiz go from this?

i was surprised at how much he was backing off against a fighter he hit much harder than, because whenever he did he was hit by some flush shots from Peterson.
and it looked like he doesn't respect his trainer much either.
in this fight as well as the Campbell fight, he seemed to not listen to the trainer.
and the JAB, jesus christ.
the rare times when he does throw the jab it's used as a light measuring stick. :nonono:
he really needs to start throwing the jab more often to set up his power punching,
but he has the potential no doubt, he needs a new trainer ASAP that can get his mentality straight....
