"I'm better than Muhammed Ali. I'm better than Sugar Ray Robinson, I would never say there's another fighter better than me" - Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

do you agree with Floyd's statement that he is greater than Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson?
He has the skills but not the balls. Mayweather is nothing but a 'what if' and all you suckers are falling for it.

Any poll worth their salt will show SRR, Ali, Pac, Holyfield and so on and so forth greater than FLoyd.
For greatness Floyd is comparable to DLH, Morales and Barrera of this world, slightly lower level tier.

I guess he can fight Martinez then.
More skilled? Yes
Greater? Not even close. Floyd isn't even greater than George Foreman.. Much less Ali.
But more skilled? Of course.
Ali wasn't even known for his boxing skills though, he relied on his supreme reflexes and athleticism during his prime and once those were gone.
he did not go the Roy Jones route and instead relied on his very good chin+ big big heart and iron will.
There's a lot of boxers more skilled than Ali.. None were greater.
i wouldn't even go that far tbh.

Thats the thing, Mayweather is so pretentious, up his own arse, that he thinks his opinion regarding this means something, he doesn't seem to realize that the only voice that matters, is the consensus view of the fans, whom almost universally dont agree, which in turn renders his opinion as useless.
is this aritcle old?
anyway--in terms of skill, hell yes, he is more skilled overall than srr and ali---but greater than them---hell no---srr is still the greatest fighter to ever lace them up professionally--that's no doubt--and ali is not too far behind him----floyd could be someday imo if he gets his ass in the ring and just stays active, because skillwise, he's the best i've seen----
Im pretty sure Floyd would fight Manny Pacquiao if he knew that Manny would be paid off like Liston was. Also Floyd didnt need smelling salts and for his trainer to rip his glove to beat a bum like Henry Cooper. People always talk about a questionable decision for Floyd, Ali had about 5-6, only difference is FLoyds one questionable decision he rematched and beat handily, while Ali ducked rematches with Young and Shavers and Jones etc...
Floyd>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ali its not really close at all. Floyd gets paid more, FLoyd hasnt lost, Floyd hasnt struggled in his fights like Ali did.
Also you want to talk about smaller guys? Look at Ali's resume, dude was fighting guys 40 lbs lighter than himself at times. Wahh...he had 2 pounds on JMM, Ali had 41 1/2 over bob foster and right before that had 30 lbs on Floyd Patterson.
Floyd also doesnt need his huggers to come into every thread abotu him talking about his 1.5 year prime and how any fault before or after that was because he was pre-prime or post-prime.
In all honesty its somewhat disrespectful to Floyd to even compare him to Ali. Floyd has never been beat, has barely struggled, has won in multiple weight classes, has never cheated with illegal substances while in the ring...all things that Ali can't say.
Also Floyd wants to clean up boxing. Ali pretty much tried to turn it into pro-wrestling what with his managers and relationships with guys like Don King.
say what you want but he has a point. Not really a fan of Ali myself, way overrated.
Well, Manny said in his 60 minutes interview that he was the best ever so how about these two fight and see who really is the best? Has this been suggested before?
Nah, nobody would be interested in it. Besides who is this Pacquiao fella? Some over hyped japanese boxer?
Funny how the little midget contrasts himself with Muhammad Ali.

Floyd is in the same class as these great fighters but he also didnt fight the best fighters in his era.
