As 2010 is almost over, reflecting back I must say how proud I am of Manny Pacquiao. I am proud of how great a face is he is for Boxing. I wish I could say the same for Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.
Boxing needs someone like Pacquiao. Outside the ring he is a gentleman, not just an icon but a role model. Can we honestly say the same about "Money" Mayweather? Pacquiao makes the sport look good and people love him for it. It is my honest opinion, with all the bad press that seems self inflicted from "Money" Mayweather, that right now he is making the sport look bad.
I am telling you honestly I'd be ashamed of Boxing if our number one star wasn't someone like Pacquiao. In public he draws crowds of cheering people, sits there and signs tons of autographs and is always smiling. He is the kind of man you'd want your children to look up too. He is a great reason as to why you might want to let your child take up the sport.
You never hear accusations of Pacquiao hitting a woman, threatening children, or possibly assaulting a security guard who was doing his job. You never read about Pacquiao allegedly being involved in road rage, or possibly connected to a shooting outside a Family skating rink. These are all things that have been "alleged" of "Money" in recent times.
Folks, do we have to sugar coat this? One makes the sport look great... and the other one makes the sport look like a steamy wet pile of sh!t.
As 2011 hits us soon, I really hope and wish that in the New Year "Money" gets his sh!t together, and I hope Pacquaio continues to give us reasons to remain proud.

Well Floyd is a supremely gifted boxer who happens to be a retarded asswipe outside of the ring.
Listen to his early interviews and he was a polite, well-adjusted and articulate young man.
I guess his rise to fame was too much for him to handle. At some point his ego went out of check and he became the epitome of tacky wealth. His contribution as a role model is to perpetuate the retarded clichés of the wannabe gangsta stereotype. It's a shame, with his talent, he could influence a whole generation of kids to do something positive with their lives. He could make a difference. Instead he waves his money in their faces and says look at me, I'm flash, I'm getting paid, look at me etc etc. That's why he doesn't get any love. That's why most people buy his fights hoping to see him lose.
This is a pile of horse doo-doo.
Who is Manny an icon to? He is an icon to filipinos. That's it.
He is not crossover like michael jordan or muhammad ali or david beckham.
He is not a sex symbol to women. Men (of normal height) do not emulate him.
Great fighter. popular in his country. Don't blow it up.
LOL...what??
David Beckham an Icon for what being over-rated, do you even watch football, he ain't no crossover like MJ or Muhammad Ali, please don't put David Beckham with those 2 true icons, you post a lot "horse doo-doo."

MMA fighters emulate pac. Amir Khan emulates pac. JIMMY KIMMEL constantly has him as a guest almost before every fight.
He's been interviewed by 60 minutes WHICH EVEN FLOYD HASN'T ACHIEVED.
He's been in the cover of TIME MAGAZINE.
AMERICAN ACTORS flock to his training camp.
Pac IS a crossover star, no question.
Why are you so negative when it comes to Pac? Are you just trying to be contrary?
One of them gave us the super fight we wanted. The other gave us 2 pathetic fights against guys not even in the top 10 p4p.
As 2011 comes along once again that same guy will give us yet another two fights. One against a guy coming off a loss and a draw and the other against a guy he clearly beat.
Lol. This article is pathetic.

Cool story bro
Men Lie, Women Lie, Quotations don't.
"Manny Pacquiao, easy money, easy work, probably easier than the Marquez fight".
“Personally, I think Pacquiao got exposed in that fight for being one-dimensional,”
“You can have all offense ability in the world but with no defense you’re not going to last long against a good counter puncher such as myself."
"If Manny Pacquiao can take a blood and urine test then we have a fight,"
