I would, boxing is already dangerous enough. There have been fighters who died in the ring. A brutal sport like boxing needs to do everything possible to try to eliminate cheating. What do you say, yes or no, why or why not?
True, but 'my plan' would work to a point if all the commisions agreed to it... then the promotors would have to too... They'd lose money if they didn't agree.
It's never going to happen though, at least not anytime soon.
I hear you but the problem is...the promoters run the commission. Not vice versa. THAT'S the problem.
I'm all for improving the testing protocols on a regular basis, but I don't see OST really being fully implemented into Boxing. Someone's gotta pay for it, in order for it to fully detect anything you have to be tested year round, and if it's coming out of a fighters' purse, I don't care how "righteous" some people may believe some of these fighters are, but they're gonna just go along with whatever State Commission is requiring.
Just remember...it's not drug tests, money, and or fear that's preventing this fight more than....wait for it......

which obviously you'll overlook...if you're heavily biased towards either Pacquiao or Mayweather.
Commissions like to say money is the issue but they don't mean the cost of the actual tests...they mean the risk of losing big money fights from promoters who don't want their guys to undergo testing.

Whoever says no is a ****ing dumbass pactard...you guys do realize that one cheater can ruin your caereer? Imagine working allyour life to bea champ and getting cheated seriously
Okay, we all know it's too expensive to do it for every fight.
Why not do a set amount per year on random fights? Say for example (dont quote me on the numbers, they're completely random) every weight in boxing has 100 opportunities to test fighters on a year - during any time of the year - fight or no fight. No one would know who's going to be tested other than the commision... Surely that would cut down the cost and risk? I mean obviously some people are going to try and flout the law but it would be better than what's happening now wouldn't it?

I'm pretty sure you could make OST mandatory for all world title fights.
That would be a big watershed if that happenned.
It would take quite a movement but look around...it's coming.

Please......NOOOOOOOO
If there was OSDT than there would be no fight ever. The moment someone agree to do OSDT the other guy would go on vacation. That mean there would be no fight.
I think it's pretty obvious everyone is in favor of it but lets leave bizarro land for a second and let me ask a more important question. Whos gonna pay for it????????????
Those who can, can. Those who can't, can't. How do you think the testing in place today began?
Yes, but only if its done right i.e. done for all big fights (draw up a set of guidlines as to which fights should qualify - title fights / top ten ranked in division) and not done at the whim of one fighter.
It is too expensive to do for every fight but should be done for the fights at the highest level across the board.
Hell no! Why? It's expensive....it would cost more than the salary of starting fighters.
I think contact sports like boxing should require them regardless of their cost.
Edit: I agree that it's a huge cost if it's done for everyfight, I didn't think about the four rounder fights...
