As 2010 is almost over, reflecting back I must say how proud I am of Manny Pacquiao. I am proud of how great a face is he is for Boxing
. I wish I could say the same for Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.
Boxing needs someone like Pacquiao. Outside the ring he is a gentleman, not just an icon but a role model. Can we honestly say the same about "Money" Mayweather? Pacquiao makes the sport look good and people love him for it. It is my honest opinion, with all the bad press that seems self inflicted from "Money" Mayweather, that right now he is making the sport look bad.
I am telling you honestly I'd be ashamed of Boxing if our number one star wasn't someone like Pacquiao. In public he draws crowds of cheering people, sits there and signs tons of autographs and is always smiling. He is the kind of man you'd want your children to look up too. He is a great reason as to why you might want to let your child take up the sport.
You never hear accusations of Pacquiao hitting a woman, threatening children, or possibly assaulting a security guard who was doing his job. You never read about Pacquiao allegedly being involved in road rage, or possibly connected to a shooting outside a Family skating rink. These are all things that have been "alleged" of "Money" in recent times.
Folks, do we have to sugar coat this? One makes the sport look great... and the other one makes the sport look like a steamy wet pile of sh!t.
As 2011 hits us soon, I really hope and wish that in the New Year "Money" gets his sh!t together, and I hope Pacquaio continues to give us reasons to remain proud.
Floyd brings it on himself. Nobody's perfect, but at the level of fame and popularity someone like Floyd is at, you'd THINK he'd have the common sense to just lay low and not put yourself out there considering the circumstances. Allegations circulating Pacquiao's personal life are what they are, allegations and it obviously hasn't affected his personal or professional life. Floyd voluntarily turned himself into Police for an incident that actually OCCURRED and has a pending court case that could lead him into jail temporarily. But again...nobody's perfect :439:
True, Floyd does bring in on himself.. Look at the past few incidences he was involved in... The difference between Pac and Floyd is from how they were raised.. Both arent perfect thats for sure..
While Floyd flaunts his money, jewels, and nice cars..
Pac is taking in humility and being graceful about it all..
That doesnt mean Pac is a better person.. Its just how he was raised, strong religious background, coming from a dirt poor family..
Compared to Floyd whos Daddy and Uncle did time, drug and female abusers...
People are raised different.. Soon Floyd will slow down and realize that being flashy 24/7 isnt all that important. Boosting himself as the greatest and winning the popularity contest isnt all that important..
Im sure Floyd is a good person, hes just bringing all the negativity on to himself..
manny DID have an amatuer career..damn yall dont even know sh1t about the fighter yall dick ride
Only 60, not much considering what hes achieved.
only in his country and but morepeople pay to see floyd fight than manny.
yep, he really transcends the sport, alright
Come on now. People only pay to watch floyd get beat up.

This is the truth. Floyd is the wifebeater with a druggy father, and they try make Pac the bad man with all this he aint taking no OSDT so its his fault attitude.
Trying to put all the negative energy on Pac. Its disgraceful. Pac came from nothing.....dirt poor. He had no amatuer career and on pure talent got where he got.
They're both flawed.....but Floyd is the easier target. Why? Because he embraces that "arrogant thuggish villain" image.
So, it really shouldn't come as a surprise when he's portrayed as an asshole in the media.
mannys no angel man...political allegations of assasination attempts, cheating on his wife, having kids wit prostitutes,..no1s perfect..so dont shine light on floyds inperfections and turn your head to mannys
Calm down bro. :D

That is just what happens. Because, it is a matter of who they like. They like one and don't like the other. A real person sees both of their mistakes (WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES AND POOR CHOICES IN LIFE) and don't make one bigger than the other in that regard.
An angel outside the ring doesn't cheat on his wife and take an active interest in blood sports.
It's ok as long as he dont cheat on his wife to sleep with another man. He's still an angel.
