Mayweather Charged with Battery for Face Poking
12/7/2010 11:35 AM PST by TMZ Staff
Floyd Mayweather has been charged with criminal battery in Nevada for allegedly -- and this is serious -- poking a man in the cheekbone with his finger ... TMZ has learned.
Floyd Mayweather Charged
TMZ has obtained the criminal complaint -- in which cops say a private security officer named Shayne Smith told officers Mayweather went ballistic outside of his Las Vegas home on November 15 after Smith placed parking citations on two of Floyd's cars.
According to the documents, Smith alleges Mayweather screamed that the guard had "no f*cking business" touching his personal property -- before the boxer grabbed a citation from one of his cars and slapped it on Smith's patrol vehicle.
The document continues, "While lambasting Smith, Mayweather was allegedly jabbing his finger into the left side of Smith's cheek just below his eye. This willful and unlawful use of force and violence upon Smith caused redness and discoloration to the area which was battered by Mayweather."
Smith claims he drove out of the area to "de-escalate" the situation, immediately notified his boss ... and then took photos of his bruised up cheek.
So far, no comment from Floyd's camp.

First of all this guy has proof that Floyd did it. And he can also provide a motive. Heres what I think happened...
Floyd purposely parked his cars wrong so that he could assault someone and go to jail to avoid fighting Pacquiao. He waited by his window all day and when he saw that guy write that ticket he stormed out and threw a hissy fit. Now he has guaranteed himself that he will get locked up and has a legit excuse to avoid fighting Pacquiao. Only problem now is the rough prison sex hes gonna get from dudes that like sodomy.
This is actually serious. The mere fact that this other case was actually filed means that Floyd`s woman and child violation cases can be affected.
The hearings on Jan 2011 could include a waiver on Floyd`s bail as a menace to society, therefore he could go to jail immediately.
I told you so, when you insult a warrior of God, you reap some punishments, the family of Floyd.
that some petty crime.....atleast beat his ass floyd.....poking him in the face is some kiddie sh1t!
Thats why these assault charges seems fukking stupid.
This isn't new anyway, it was reported months ago.
seems like minor incident, but still floyds power in his poke has gota be deadly!.lol.
lets hope floyd can throw his big bucks at the courts to get away from prison and only be stuck with degrading humiliating community service
(one of the services facing pacman!)
Excellent. Sort of the same deal as getting an appendectomy and then considering yourself a doctor, good stuff. You're basically a licensed and bonded criminal attorney now.
Got any pointers for your boy Floyd for his stay in said facilities?
Waiting for him to show up in here and I'll walk him thru in his new home. We got a spot picked out for his uncle LOL.
You are taking this a lil to seriously
Seriously, I don't touch anyone. I don't even like being in crowded clubs and bars.
guys have become such sissies.
I once OBSERVED a guy get shoved and he called the police.
Was he talking to a Japanese girl? if she knew who Floyd is?
The Nevada Correctional Facility

Reddened mark on the face is not an automatic qualifier for an assault. It sounds good but it is just somebody looking for a payday. If it was anybody else it wouldn't even be an issue.
Floyd's ex really has a case
Thank you for your expert interpretation of Nevada's legal code.
Where'd you get your law degree from again?
The guy says that he has a reddened mark on his face.
I avoid getting into street fights or confrontations. I don't anticipate things would go my way. So I can't speak from experience.
I'll have to defer to you. Because I realize that the practical application of the law is different than the books.

The report said the guard's face/eye was discolored and red. That good enough for a criminal assault charge and trial in your expert opinion?
If his eye is red yes, not the skin on his face
Talking out of experience. If you and I get into an altercation I'll slap you silly instead of using a fist. You have to have an injury and contact is not an automatic battery

Is there a reason for me to believe that you know the law better than the Clark county District Attorney?
If they say contact = battery, that sounds about right to me.

District Attorney: When Officer Schmendrick left at 10:00 am, was his face reddened?
Captain Shlub: No, sir
District Attorney: When Officer Schmendrick retuned at 10:30 am, was his face reddened?
Captain Shlub: Yes, sir
District Attorney: What did Officer Schmendrick say happened to his face?
Captain Shlub: He reported that he had been poked by Floyd Mayweather at 123 Main Street
Floyd just needs to cut a check to Sugar Bear Security to make this go away.
That should settle it... and the guard is transferred somewhere else.
IMO this wont hold any water in court.
Essentially, a my word vs his word.
Floyd will say no I didnt, the security guard will say yes he did.
But at the end of the day, is there evidence beyond a resonable doubt that he did it?
Nah.
Just one mans testimony against a multi millionaire.
Grown man pressing charges for someone poking him means he lookin for money. Poke me ill whoop ya ass boxer or not. Boxing is not the same as street fighting
tough guy over here.
