I don’t care that he weighed 145 pounds on fight night vs. Katsidis. The fact that he made 134 pounds the day before tells me that extra poundage he put on was just water weight -- not muscle. Marquez is not a welterweight. Period. Marquez is an old, small lightweight. Don’t even call him a junior welterweight. There isn’t a world-class junior welterweight alive who can make 134 pounds without killing himself. Pacquiao would kill himself making 134 pounds. Pacquiao would have to seriously dry out to make 140 pounds. We should all forget about Pacquiao-Marquez III unless Manny decides he wants to go against Freddie Roach and Arum and agree to weigh-in between 140 and 142 pounds. Even then, he’ll have a distinct size and strength advantage over Marquez. I think JMM has given fans enough thrills in hard, grueling fights. Pacman has improved last few years. Marquez has declined. Don't think Marquez victory overall sub standard opponents cloud your opinion. (Diaz and Katsidiz LOL) Fighting the same guy he beat twice already does nothing for Pacman Legacy. Also when he KO Marquez everyone will be saying oh he too old.

That's why I would like to see him eat Berto because in my opinion that's his best options. Berto might be a little inexperienced but he is very fast and has explosive power so in my opinion it's going 2 ways in this fight Pac getting KTFO or Berto getting KTFO.

Even if that stuff about the weight is true, there is no way it wouldn't at the very least be an exciting competitive fight imo, simply because JMM still does things stylistically, that throws Pac's game off somewhat. That fight is deffo worth making.

Pacquiao can most certainly make 140lbs without so much as jogging an extra mile. But for what? Historically, 147 is one of the top money divisions....and he's gonna stay right where he is. Having the fight at the WW limit means nothing...Pac will never weigh in that heavy. He'll be 145 at the very highest. JMM could never make 147 either, he'd make 142. In any case....Pac destroys JMM at 140+. If the fight were close to 130 or 135...I see JMM being able to put another clinic and make a third fight super close....but Pac still winning via Knockdown points.

Pac has to overeat (which he hates as much as draining himself) just to make 147 and the highest he's ever been is 145. Ariza says that Pac could make 140 easy and of all the people who feed Manny he's the one who knows the most. I agree with Fischer on this one. I think Marquez deserved a 3rd fight, and should of got one straight after the 2nd. But i think that ship has sailed now. Pacquiao is better suited to a higher weight-division now while Marquez is 135-140 pound fighter. I cant see Pacquiao ever fighting below 147 again, while for me Marquez wont be affective fighting above 140. Shame, as there really should of been a 3rd fight. The thing is i think Marquez wants the fight so bad, he would gladly go up to 147 for it, which would be a big advantage for Manny i feel. But i agree with some of the posts in this thread, while a JJM fight may be pretty pointless, so is a Mosely one IMO.

I think Marquez will alway give Pac a good fight because Marquez is just such a great fighter. Do he deserve a fight with Pac though...hell naw. Not because he hasn't done much lately, he's proven that he deserved a fight with Pac by beating Katsidis. But because he's been so childish lately.
