Why does Roach turn down catch weights from lower levels when he was doing such himself? I He makes all the big guys come down and now all the little guys come up. Is 144 really that bad or is he just nervous that JMM is still dangerous at 144 and needs all the advantage he can get for his fighter. He should trust his fighter. Pac has beaten great names but which were in their primes? I only give him credit for Cotto all the rest were tailor made or weight drained. I dont beleive pac does roids he has just been matched just right with fighters tailor made for him. Now he wants to match Pac with Mosely. Really? Did his draw with Mora impress Roach that much that he said this is our next top opponent! "Now lets see how low he can go"? He keeps pac in the same weight range where he is comfortable. So come fight night Pac comes in perfect weight not even at the agreed weight but his opponents have dropped so much weight they cant recoup. Im really starting to see through all these smoke and mirrors. He stopped fighting the best after JMM. Once he weight drained DLH he stayed with the weight draining practice. But now that someone asked him he says no. I dont blame Pac for this cause I know he would fight anyone but we know he doesnt pull the strings here.
You're pretty much decribing the current Pac situation
Pac just fought at 154 and people expect him to drop to 135 against JMM?
JMM wants Pac. he'll get a career highest purse and a shot at legitimate greatness
Don't forget that Pac has ALWAYS come up and fought bigger guys, and that is a fact that can't be debated, everybody knows this and a simple fact check will show this.Look at the Oscar that Floyd took on.
No they're two very different cases. I am not asking Manny to go down to 135, I don't believe anybody is. I think a 144 catchweight would be great, as Manny made 147 in his fight with Margarito, and JMM was 144 in his fight this past Saturday. Hell, I'd be cool with 147 if it is correct that JMM did weigh 144 on fight night.
Pac is a 154 title holder, but it was fought at a 150 catchweight so he is not a legitimate 154 holder, so to say he is fighting at 154 is simply not true. He didn't even make the 150 limit for Margarito.
147 at Marquez is fair and they're both ok with it. Nobody is asking Manny to come to 135, I have not read that anywhere, where did you read that?
No no, get your facts straight kid.
Hatton had fought at 140 his entire career.
Floyd had fought at 147 for long time, and before Hatton fought at jr middle 154.
What did you expect, Floyd to drop from 154 to 140 for Ricky Hatton?
Hatton wanted Floyd, he got a career highest purse and a shot at legitimate greatness, and I think 147 was the only weight that fight could take place.
Don't forget that Floyd has ALWAYS come up and fought bigger guys, and that is a fact that can't be debated, everybody knows this and a simple fact check will show this.Look at the Oscar that Floyd took on. That Oscar would have KO'd Manny.

Then why did you bother posting or even making a thread if you think facts aren't any good here?
I was being sarcastic..Relax if you notice i never i post for that reason....Facts are ignored on this site. There are no decent convos because this site is ran with nuthuggers.
What are you doing? You know facts arent any good here..

Floyd Brought Hatton up 7 pounds to 147 and JMM up 12 pounds to 147
He has done this twice in 3 fights since becoming a huge draw.
Floyd is no different

Because when you're the draw, you make the terms
Whats so hard to understand here?
Manny is the One selling millions of PPV and he has the power
By this....
I wasn't referring to every single Pac fan. I am a Pac fan myself (although I have lost a lot of respect for him, and continue to do so with every shot fight he takes) so I am speaking about the "Pactard" but I don't like using that terminology as I think it sounds stupid.
If you are not one of the people that do what I described, then you are not one of those particular Pac fans.
Get it?
Got it.
I myself have been sorely disappointed by some of Pac's decisions, and i certainly HOPE he won't take the Mosley fight, nor agree to any more catchweights.
So its ok now that Pac does it because floyd did it? So if they were to start negotiations and started demanding again wou would be ok with his demands?
How did you come to that conclusion from my posts?
All i said is that when you are a huge draw, you make the terms and fighters fight at your weight
How can you expect people to take you seriously when you generalize all pac fans in one group?
Please.
Just as there are idiot Floyd fans, there are also idiot Pac fans. That doesn't mean ALL floyd/pac fans are idiots.
I myself prefer Pac to face Marquez at 140, Martinez at 154 and finally Floyd at 147, and i WILL NOT pay to watch a Pac/Mosley fight.

LOL.
I thought this was exactly what Pacquiao fans were AGAINST?
When it came to Mayweather, "being the draw doesn't matter". Now, all of a sudden, it does matter?
Pathetic.

It depends who you ask. For real boxing fans, it's not ok. For Pacquiao fans, it's just what's fair because it isn't fair for Manny to fight bigger guys because he is smaller and has already moved up 40 pounds since starting his career.
I never bought that, that is not my personal excuse, but it's what I've read from a ton of different posters. It seems that Roach will use an excuse, and Pac followers will repeat it as fact, as if it makes so much sense it's stupid to believe he should fight at a normal weight limit.
The double standards with his fans really is starting to make them look ridiculous.
Marquez loses to Pacquiao and they all say that he is just a bitter cry baby who is full of excuses, he lost fair and square.
Marquez says he can beat Pacquiao.
Now Marquez has no interest in fight Floyd again.
He says "Floyd is the best boxer I've ever faced, I have no excuse other than he is simply better than me, and better than Pacquiao."
So Pac fans say "Well he had to gain too much weight, and Floyd was simply too big.
Isn't it funny? A guy who supposedly is a cry baby excuse maker isn't even making excuses, but Pacquiao fans will make excuses for him.
It is seriously a joke and if these particular Pac fans could see this from the same perspective as the rest of the world, I'm sure they'd have a laugh.
So which is it? It seems catchweights are OK when they favor your fighter.
We can't even take these people seriously, as they're just fanboys and not actual fans of boxing.

I agree. If you wanna fight bigger opponents then thats your business meet them at the correct weight. I really hated that they win belts at catchweights. If the belt was won at 155 then win it at 155. Catchweights are ok I guess maybe in Megafights and both agree to them where they feel they both will be comfortable. Seems like every fight as of late is a catchweight fight. The fighters lately just agree to the weights so they can get paid. That is it. Martinez said it best and hes smart not to play into roaches little tricks.
Because when you're the draw, you make the terms

They never drained dela Hoya.
Dela Hoya himself offered to go down to 147. Remember that he was the cash cow at that time and was the one dictating the terms.
What I think jmm should do is train to come in at 135(or 137 even). That way he would be 144-145 fight night. If manny can come in below the limit why not jmm. Unless roach says he has to make 147. Which would be crazy.
That's exactly what would happen.
This has become more about unfair advantages than anything else.
And everyone damn well knows it.
I think so too. He should train at his weight he feels fastest and most powerful and then let the chips fall in the ring. IF roach were to request he come in at 147 then you will truly know how much of a scumbag he is. It would show he really doesnt have the confidence in Pac. I think the weight he came in against Katsidis would be perfect. He looked good and sharp and strong.
