Honestly, i'm watching the Ward-Bika fight for the first time, and the dirty tactics used by Ward is absolutely disgusting. He's used dirty tactics in the past, but I thought maybe because he was green.
Why do I call him a fraud?
He promotes himself as a real athlete, determined, hardworking and sportsmanlike....
but leading with the elbow every time after the jab? leading with the head? leading WITH THE ELBOW?! What about that punch CLEARLY after the break...
I used to like Ward but enough its enough...if that's what he had to do against a 35 year old Sakio Bika, I wonder what'll happen when he fights OUTSIDE OF OAKLAND FOR ONCE. Will he fight Carl Froch outside of Oakland?
Ward definitely isn't clean, but he fought dirty because Bika was doing the same. He has made it horrible for himself when he does leave Oakland though, because now refs are going to be looking to penalize him almost as a way of making things even.
I could see a fight against Froch in a neutral venue where Ward gets an unfair point taken off, just because he gets away with a little too much at home.
I don't buy this Bika was dirty as well BS. Ward was horrible in that fight. If you have aspirations to be a top fighter, you have be intelligent when facing these sort of fighters.Ward showed none of that. Besides Ward was the one leading with his head in the clinches and throwing the elbow. Bika was game but anyone with any class could have found a way round him. Think scorecards were shocking as well (can't recall exactly what they were as it was 5am in the morning and I stuggled to stay awake through that).
As said we will see how he does against AA. There is a blueprint to beat him so he'll have no excuses. If Carl 'lets have a brawl' Froch can outbox AA then there is no reason Ward can't either, will he do that, I doubt it.
Such a shame that Dirrell didn't even want to try and do it, hey?
Well we have to remember Bika gave the "Great" Joe Calzaghe every bit of trouble he gave Ward. Joe didnt just cruise in and box his ears off either. Bika is a handfull. Ward will have no problems outboxing AA :boxing:

Don't give me that answer. There are things that Ward has done in the past that are testaments to his boxing IQ and athleticism. Those are the things that have made me a fan and ONCE MADE YOU A FAN. Going by this statement alone, it's clear that you're just playing a reactionary role to the Bika bout. As I've stated, the Bika bout was a horrible outing by Ward. But let's not hold one performance against him. He's fighting Abraham next, so let's hold our criticism until after that fight.

That would have been horrible, Dirrell running and Ward trying to clinch then both doing feck all on the inside.......
Ward out roughed one of the roughest toughest fighters out there. He showed he wontr be intimadated or bullied and that he is a very strong SMW. This guy can do it all, i dont see him losing for years, the next p4p champ IMO
Ha! Good question. I think Ward is more athletic than Bhop though...it's just not fair for guys like Ward and Holyfield to run in with their heads an elbows
When fighting on the inside the athleticism is a lot more subtle but don't get it twisted B-Hop(and Ward) are supreme athletes and use that athleticism on the inside and more importantly they use it to get inside. Guys like Hatton weren't athletic enough to get inside against top competition.
That's the way he always fights! Again, this is nothing new for Andre Ward...he did the same to Kessler, and even Allan Green.

How is that different then BHop

Much criticism for Ward, yet no criticism for Bika? Your hate clouds your judgment. With that said, Ward fought like an idiot. He kept trying to fight on the inside and clinched far too often when he did get on the inside. When he started to relax and fought on the outside, he looked effective. He just didn't have that usual composure he normally does. However, it's one fight and we can't write his whole career off of this one performance. He's looked versatile and amazing in his last bouts; let's not forget that.

Fights just B-Hop Ward is a monster and he will be an all time great just like Bernard Hopkins
More like an athletic Hatton that backs up and leads with his elbow
yea, let u guys keep on believing ur stupidity. meanwhile ward will keep winning. u wanna talk about someone not leaving their hometown, go talk to lucian bute. but of course we cant mention him getting koed by adrande, rite??
