I would rather see Berto/Bradley/Alexander since Pacquiao will receive no credit fighting Marquez at 147.
I agree on berto to unify the belts... that should add more to the legacy.
I am not so sure about fighting the bradley/alexander winner... it might not be economical... The martinez fight should be more saleable if it can be made at a weight that is acceptable to both. martinez is much bigger and fresh from a sensational win therefore, it would be perceive by boxing fans as very competitive. This will definitely sell.
Last fight before he retires should be against JMM... to settle unfinished business. I said last since it might not sell due to a mismatch perception. Nevertheless, it should happen even if it doesn't sell. I think if its the last fight before retirement, Pac camp will agree.
Offcially Marquez hold the title at 135lbs while Pacman got the 147lbs and 154lbs!
To make it fair to boxing fans, Marquez in the past fought Mayweather at 147lbs!
So, if ever they agreed to fight then it should be at 147lbs!
Same as that with Mayweather!
Even if he fought and win against Martinez at 154lbs no catch weight. They can always say that Martinez was weight drained for that fight.
excuses will only stop when pac finally loses...they've been waiting in vain for that.
both fights had catch-weights. both had to drain themselves to make weight.
now Pacroid dont wanna give a catchweight, has to be at exactly 147.
Pacroid is a joke
147 means welterweight... it means the fighter can come at any weight between 141 to 147... The didn't say exactly 147, sir.:boxing:
same story over and over again...people keep lining up possible opponents for pac. we got martinez, berto, jmm, the winner of bradley-alexander...and of course pac can only choose one to fight. unfortunately for pac, people will say he ducked the other guys.
he fights jmm and the "he never fought a black american fighter" excuse continues. he fights berto and people will say he's trying to avoid a 3rd fight with jmm. i think the only safe opponent for him is martinez because that's the only matchup that he will be the underdog....and haters will surely love that.

Marquez is OK fighting Manny at 147 so what is the problem. Manny will not be 10bls bigger than Marquez. If Marquez would like to come in 135-138lbs to maintain speed so let him be. At the night of fight there will be only a deference 2-3lbs bet. fighters. If Manny came in under weight against Margarito to maintain speed so can Marquez. Plus they can make this as a tittle defense putting Manny's belt on the line. So if Marquez wins he can have his 4th tittle something no Mexican fighter have achieved before and what's better is getting it from the Legendary "Mexicutioner". He would be an instant Hero in Mexico.
Manny should weight 3-4 pounds of where he normally fights and meet Marquez at 140lbs.
If it doesn't affect his opponents from fighting at their best, then it shouldn't affect him either.
Shrug, that's his choice since he gets to call the shots.
I think Marquez gives him a little more trouble at 140, but loses regardless.
Pacroid dropped him too, how did that work out for him ?
24 rounds, Pacroids only won 2.
Pacroid wants no part of Marquez for a reason, he is afraid of Marquez.
1 win. 1 draw. and the draw was because of an admitted scoring error.
Great fighters should fight eachother for one last time.
JMM still got it! :boxing:
manny wants it at 147.
the whole world (except the guys i share a hut with) think manny can make 140.
but manny wants marquez at 147
Again, they were fighting within 3-4 pounds of where they fought normally...and still greatly outweighed him on fight night.
Not that I approve of him fighting at so many catchweights, but I don't his opponents having to weigh in 3lbs less than their previous fight is 'weight draining'. They still bloat up on fight night and outweigh him by a lot.
Haters gonna hate, I guess.

They don't call him the catch-weight king for nothing.
