How could Pac win the 154 belt weighing 144? I know they had the catchweight of 150, but that is within the rage of JMW(148-154). Wouldn't he have to be within the weight limit for the bought to be for a belt?
Also, I commend Pac for being able to beat Margarito being much smaller, even though I think Margarito's style, speed and reflexes is tailor made for him and they, but shouldn't Pac have to meet the at least 148? To me, that is another advantage that they took. He weighed in less, trying to keep his speed and endurance, while making Margarito go down to 150 possibly draining him and sapping a little strength and endurance. How can this be? Serious queston.
If Pac had to weigh 4 lbs less, that would've probably been a disadvantage for him. No?
that's the whole point--it is allowed but it's bull****---when floyd moved up to fight de la hoya, he lost his speed--floyd did weight 150 at the weigh-in--but he let oscar weigh in at 154, not 150--manny being allowed to be smaller is bull****---and he should not have his title wins at 147 and 154 count--it's corruption imo--because being a smaller fighter can be a huge disadvantage--meaing manny is comfortable being smaller, whereas margarito had to drain himself to weigh 150 and you dumbass manny fans know it---these catchweight championship fights are totally nonsense if you ask me---
winning titles at weights you don't even weigh at---it's fukked up bull****, but his fans will support his every move--they've been brainwashed for years--so don't mind them--
floyd has legitimate title wins, margarito does also, so does cotto(even though he's fought for vacant titles a little too much for my liking--lol--)---not manny---he has them at the smaller weights but no way in hell does he have legit title wins at 154 and 147--no way in hell---he doesn't really hold records if you ask me--it's a sham---
manny coming in smaller--maintains his speed--which was the key to manny beating tony--margarito was slow to begin with--manny made him look much slower fighting small and moving a lot---would he had moved that much and looked that fast had he actually fought at 154 or 150 for that matter--and i don't meaning coming into the fight that day weighing 150--i mean the weigh-in--and the fight day, he either gains more weight or loses the weight----tony should have been allowed to come in at the weigh-in weighing 154 pounds, not 150, not 145--154!
manny's last 2 title wins are shams---not real--

Titled: I really miss the Floyd from 2005...the "gatti" floyd mayweather jr...
Now there's boxing to watch.. you should do the same, get off Floyds stuff man it's unhealthy.

thank god i'm well versed in morse code.
As an aside and IMO ...
Pac probably beats Martinez at 154 by UD/SD, possibly even by TKO
if at 150 contractual. It's just workrate, speed and superior stamina.
Problem is, Pac will take HEAVY damage, and he has to consider if a
W against Sergio is worth the possbile longterm health risk.
Floyd Jr. would decision Martinez WITHOUT taking as much damage,
so it should be a easier choice to him, if he would just stop getting
into so much drama out of the ring.
I agree w/most of that. Except I am not sure if Pac beats Martinez at 154. I guess it just depends on the terms. If Pac has to come in at 150 or above, I don't think there is any way he beats him. I HIGHLY doubt that would agree to that though.
:lol1: :lol1:you're a tool---and i won't bother putting in laughing smiley faces after this, because it's not funny at all--it's not a joke either--you really are a tool---and you know it--
I didn't know also, I thought you had to come within the weight class bracket. PAC can defend his 154 title against Gamboa at a catchweight of 132. If Gamboa win he can defend it against Calderon at 117. Calderon can be the 154 champ.
Lol...it never ends...they just need to admit the sanctioning bodies are kissing pac's ass for money. When will this fake run at history stops?

I'll admit, i didn't actually know this or seeked to find out...i always presumed that you have to weigh within a certain weight bracket. i.e. for a WW fight you need to weigh between 141-147, LMW 148-154 etc.
You didn't know this? U must "don't know boxing"!
Sounds perfectly reasonable to Russian Crushin. :lame:
Yea sure haha, just because I didn't know this I know nothing about boxing LOL.
The division is 154, meaning the fighters have to weigh at or under that
Only people that would ask this kind of question are people that don't know boxing at all or are casual fans at best

There is no minimum weight only maximum, although the commission will prevent a Calderon fight at HW for example.
and how the hell is being smaller an advantage? also Margarito is a career welterweight .
Of course being smaller can be an advantage. If it wasn't they wouldn't bother asking for catchweights.
Also, If Pac had 4 extra lbs on him, do you think he has the same speed and advantage? I don't think so. What he might give up in extra strength (something he didn't need), he gains in speed and endurance.

Because I don't know the exact rule for weight, that means I don't know boxing? Ok, whatever. Then why do they have "weight classes? 154 is a limit and I would've assumed that a fight would not be allowed to go on, if a fighter is below the weight limit. At least for safety reasons. Makes sense to me.
By the way, how often does this issue come up in boxing? You act like this is a common thing that has happened.
With some of the things you say on this board, you are the LAST person that should be saying someone "don't know
boxing".

There should be a rule if he doesnt go over 147 or 1 division lower, he wouldnt be able to fight.
This is just for the players safety.
