The same people that were supporting Pac's 8th world title as a valid fight are now saying his too small to fight at the weight his champion at when a legit 154 fighter steps up. So my question is. Is Manny a real 154 champ or a 154 chump.
Pacquiao is not a legitimate champion at 154lbs to me. and Pac is not too small for 154lb fighters either, Bundrage is a titleholder at 154lbs and I could easily see Pacquiao beating him.
just depends who he fights. size disadvantage aint so bad when you have a huge speed and stamina advantage(which Pacquiao has, party due to him being the smaller man).
there are advantages to being small you know. size matters in boxing, but its not the only thing that matters.
who is celebrating it? team pacquiao and the media? It's no big deal, it's no different then sugar ray leonard winning both the super middleweight title and the light heavyweight title in a single fight in a catchweight bout or any other fight like that, it is what it is. Blame the WBC for handing out titles like candy.
Did you miss poster "Suger Sting Ray" on this thread. He sounds pretty convince about Pac's relevents at 154. Look " Manny Pacquiao is the jr. middleweight world champion even though, at 145 lbs., he is too small. That's how great he is"..... you telling this guy is the only one on here celebrating it. Come on bro.

That is the absolute truth for a lot of the more biased Pac fans. Then there are smarter Pac fans that did realize before hand that the whole 8th world title thing was BS, kind of like how Leonard won two titles in two weight classes with one fight. You still respect the fighter, but you know when to put things in perspective.
Manny Pacquiao is the jr. middleweight world champion even though, at 145 lbs., he is too small. That's how great he is. Being a champion of a weight division in which he is too small is the most blatant proof that he is one of the greatest 5 pound for pound fighters in history.
But he shouldn't keep fighting in a weight division in which his opponents are going to be 20 lbs. bigger than him on fight night. He is only human. And to ask him to fight foes that are much bigger is not only unhealthy, but physically dangerous.
He should move down to jr. welterweight or welterweight where he wouldn't be too out weighed.
Afterall, the woman beater and son of a drug dealer father and a drug addict mother, Floyd Mayweather, has fought a natural 130 pounder at 144 pounds where he cheated him by showing up several pounds higher, as well as a natural 140 pounder who had to balloon up to 147 pounds.
Cut Pacquiao some slack. Just because he is the greatest fighter of the past 40 years does not mean he should subject himself to fighting fighters 2 divisions higher.
I think the problem with you statement is that you failed to realize how Manny became a champion as you say "Being a champion of a weight division in which he is too small" is the issue. Maybe if you could comprehend that then you will see how some people this may rub them the wrong way if of course your looking at it as a boxing fan and not as a Pac fanatic.

No, it means he doesn't deserve that title. Everyone but you knew that 8th world title was BS.
Everyone knew the vacant title he got for beating margarito was a BS title and he said from the start he was going to vacate it and go back to 147 so I don't know why this all shocking all of a sudden.
If Martinez didn't win so spectacularly on Saturday I highly doubt the forum would be demanding pacquiao fights K9 Bundredge or Sergei Dzinziruk or Miguel Cotto rematch. No one would care that pac is going to campaign at 147.
You guys forget that pacquiao weighed in at 144 pounds against margarito. And yet you want him fighting at 154 pounds? come on
Really. By the sound of some people celebrating Pac's 8th world title you would think otherwise.
So asking for a fighter to defend a title at the weight his champion at is asking too much LOL.....
