Who is his best option for his next fight assuming the fight with Mayweather cant get made
i say berto. martinez MIGHT draw a little more of an audience but berto would be a no catchweight, no excuses, in his prime (or VERY VERY NEAR IT) opponent. i think pac/berto would be fireworks while it lasted and i couldnt fathom any single boxing fan that could dismiss that fight or take anything away from either fighter win/lose. to me thats a win/win.
Take away the "too big" and the other attributes you mentioned are not gonna stand true against pac.
If they were the same size ...
Having said that ... at this point, what matters to arum and team pac is what opponent can generate the most money.
I disagree, I think if they were the same size Pac would have a great chance in beating Martinez. If you give the same attributes to Martinez same style. I would favor Pac if they were the same size.
Martinez likes to fight with his hands low no matter against who he does it. He just likes that would be a no no with fighting Pac. However, since he is too big that either doesn't matter but if they were the same size it would make a huge difference that is why I throw in the too big.
I just hope it isnt Mosley. I mean would he really generate more money than Berto. He is more we ll known but his recent performances might sway fans away
You are kinda saying martinez is the only one who has a chance of beating pac is because he has a huge size advantage over pac.
Yes, that is exactly what I am saying! Martinez's ability combined with his size means he is, with the possible exception of Mayweather, the best fight available to Pacquiao right now.
Let's say martinez is the same size to the jww bradley/alexander.
Among the 3, who's got the better chance of beating pac?
I'm thinking your answer would probably change to bradley :-)
Pound-for-pound, Martinez is still better than Bradley. I don't even think it's a given that Bradley beats Alexander.
Whatever... they still get massacred at the hands of Pacquiao. I mean, it might make for a cool KO to add to YouTube compilations but I don't want that when there are still good, even fights out there for him.

That is funny. Those 2 black dudes you mentioned are heavier than pac on fight night.

I am arguing that Martinez is not his best option because he a slim to no chance of winning at 154+. The only the gains about fighting Martinez is the respect of fighting him. But, that is the best options for the fans, Pac fans, and Pac critics. But, not for Pac himself.
Pac-Bradley is a great option at 140. However, even if it is at 147 I give Bradley a better chance in beating Pac, then I do Pac in beating Martinez at 154+.
Fact is Martinez is too talented, too big, and just too good. I don't mind Pac being in a fight where there is a good chance of him losing. A fight against Floyd is a fight that pac could lose but also could win. Martinez he just won't be able to win unless he really drains him in a very low catch-weight.

Are you arguing that it's not the best fight for Pacquiao or that it's not the easiest fight for Pacquiao? He stands more to gain from fighting Martinez than the other three/four combined.
We obviously have a difference in opinion on Pacquiao's abilities. In my mind he stands a perfectly reasonable chance of beating Martinez, which I'm sure the betting odds would reflect were it signed. It's not guaranteed, like four of his last six fights have been, but that's what we want, right? Let's see Pacquiao really earn that 8th weight division.
Do you seriously think Bradley/Alexander (who Pacquiao would likely drag up to 147lbs) stand a snowball's chance in hell of surviving past round five, let alone winning?
That is funny. Those 2 black dudes you mentioned are heavier than pac on fight night.
It's Mayweather or bust. I bet they make Bradley come to 147 even though Pac is really a lightweight
Bradley would actually love that.
Fight night bradley shoots up to 150+ at jww.
The Martinez fight. There's no two ways about it.
Berto, Mosley and Bradley/Alexander are all easy wins for Pacquiao. Martinez actually stands a chance of winning.
You are giving pac too much credit there.

Well this clearly just boils down to a difference in opinion then. I see the Martinez fight as a pick 'em, maybe slightly leaning towards Pacquiao. Bradley would get iced so bad it wouldn't even be funny. We'd just be left scratching our heads and mourning an ended career again like we did after the Hatton fight.

I have Martinez winning against him, he is a skilled 5'10'' fighter and will come in above middleweight. He ain't Margarito with the footwork of a half year amateur experience footwork. Roach will insist on a unhealthy unreal catchweight.
Moneywise Mosley is the best option, but Berto/Alexander/Bradley will do more for his legacy.
martinez would weigh 170+ in the ring and pac would be around 148 pounds. that's stupid.
Margarito did and he got curbstomped.
If the people your own size don't offer any challenge, then fight bigger people. That's the situation Pacquiao is in right now. He has more or less proven himself the supreme welterweight (with the possible exception of Floyd, but let's not get into that) so sticking around mopping up the left overs is pretty redundant. I want to see him face someone who can possibly beat him.
It is not a 50/50 fight bro, Martinez whoops that ass...
Pac is not capable in beating Martinez at 154+.... Just not...
He might have a title but that doesn't mean Pac is the champ really, lets not forget how he got that title and what he weighed in for that fight. Yes technically he is a 8 division champ and got a JMW title but everybody should know the deal about that title.
It is clear that Pac is a JWW fighting at a WW that got a BS title at JMW that he didn't deserve. Pac more than likely will give up that title anyways and stay at WW. And, since clearly he can't weigh in more than 147 fight at WW and below is his best option.
Nobody is saying that Martinez doesn't have a right to demand a fight with Pac. Why throw that out there I don't know. However, fighting a fight that you have a slim to no chance of winning can not be the best option for you. Is the best options for the fans, Pac fans to be proud, and Pac critics. But, is not the best option for Pac. Is just not.

i dont wanna see pac/bradley
but IMHO bradley wouldnt mind coming up to WW to fight pac, think about it for a min.
Its the biggest pay day of bradleys carrer, Bradley could weigh in anywhere from 141-147 so he doesnt have to dehydrate his bodyas much as he would if the fight was at 140. I bet at fight nights he weighs around 150 give or take a lb, so he would gladly take the fight at 147
It'll be the first 50-50 fight he's been involved in since Marquez II. The boxing community want to see Pacquiao tested, and no one short of Mayweather and Martinez is capable of that right now.
Pacquiao can beat Martinez at 154lbs. Plus he's a champion at junior middle now, so Martinez has every right to demand a fight with him if he can cut down to 154lbs.
Not saying they would win but I feel Bradley and Alexander would test Manny and put better fights than all of his opponents since Marquez.
