Is Dawson the next Williams? (KO victim)

Dawson has more skill in his left nut than Williams has in his whole body but he seems like a bit of a choke artist to me. Why do we have to wait till rematches to see the best of him?

I agree that Dawson was close to putting Pascal away. But to be fair, it was Dawson's fault that the cut happened in the first place. you can't blame that on one person, come on man

He could be, but I doubt it. Paul can be very sloppy while Dawson is alot more polished. It could happen if dawson start's a combo than gets caught.

Pascal is supposedly a hard puncher. Dawson is supposed to have a bad chin. Dawson took Pascal's best and was not fazed by it. In fact, he came back strong at the end of the fight to hurt Pascal. I view that fight as an abberation. Don't forget Dawson is the same guy who shut Adamek out for 11 of 12 rounds.

I'm re-watching Dawson's fight against Pascal and it's almost sad how many times he ate a Pascal right hand, that right hand seemed to be a heat guided missile...not missing the target. Are there any (relatively) unknown LHWs with devastating right hands that could dispatch Dawson into a state of comatose? bad night for Dawson. He should beat Pascal handiy in their rematch. Dawson isn't Williams....he uses a jab and works from there.

If you combined Dawson skills, speed, and athleticism with Williams' heart, toughness, and fighting spirit, you would have a future ATG.

I don't think this is a good comparison. Dawson has really good defense/head movement. Pascal caught him a couple times but IIRC it wasn't because of any serious flaws in Dawson's game. Jean Pascal is good at what he does and that gonna happen in boxing. what makes this comparable IMO is the difference in chin.

That was a bad night for Dawson, but I personally think Dawson is slicker and has a better defense then Williams. I don't think Williams and Dawson fight alike at all. Williams is more of a brawler who loves to go to war and thats why his best defense is his offense. I never compared Dawson and Williams' style but you're right about Dawson having a better defense (most of the time, chad does have defense lapses). I don't think it was a "bad night" for Dawson BUT I do believe he might do better against better opposition in the future. I think it's just that Dawson was a bit "rusty ", so to speak, in regards to fighting young, strong, fast opponents, knowhaimean?
