Who would win Martinez vs Paquiao at 154?

I honestly feel like Martinez would have the advantage. He's bigger, stronger, hits harder, more technical (able to do more things in the ring) than Pacquiao. Manny is a great fighter and I take nothing away from him, but this is a bad matchup for him.

His record should be 47-1-2 not 46-2-2. The draw with Cintron should have been a win and the loss to Williams should have been a draw.

Eh... Manny looks great against those kind of opponents because Manny is great don't get it twisted. Bradley wouldn't look as great as Manny did against those same opponents at the weight Manny fought. Same goes for Berto, and as skilled and good JMM is same goes for him, I agree Martinez wins this and should but don't try to down play Manny accomplishments either bro. Uhh... I didn't actually. If it was a valid 10 count (I agree Cintron would have got up), Martinez would have been all over that with another left hand rocket to his face. People don't walk into his punches, he launches himself at them, especially at 154. Check out the Bunema KD. PWill was an exception because Sergio already knew that PWill would move to him predictably. Well I admit Cintron was hurt....but I meant he wasn't in serious trouble...ala Margarito against Mosley or Lopez against Mtagwa. I'm not sure I see your point..? Why would Pac take such a risk fighting Martinez just to defend the 154 belt? If the fight happens, which I don't think it will, it would have be for the 160 title. Otherwise, It's not worth the risk for Pac. I don't think Pac should play with fire above WW. From now on, he should keep his fights at 147 or below. But when ur opponent is nearly as fast as u, nearly has as good footwork as u, slicker than u, a lot bigger and stronger than u, and with more power than u, To Quote Ivan Drago,"U will lose" Eh... :grumpy: martinez is the middleweight champion of the world he's appealing for pacquiao because of that belt (one of the greatest in the sport) why on earth would he fight at 154? that fight couldnt be for the MW world championship its gotta be between 54 and 60 the fighters can come in as light as they'd like all that being said maravilla would make 154 in a HEARTBEAT if he actually could he'd probably make 5 mil and have the chance to become a bonafide STAR with his looks were he to beat (or knock out) pacquiao

No one gives a **** about belts, we all know Martinez is a good fighter and if Manny beats him at 154 without the 160 belt on the line. Then Manny just put a great name on his resume. I'm so sick of people emphasizing so much on these paper belts these days, no one cares about these meaningless belts. Atleast I don't I just want good fights to be made, its already ridiculous each weight class has like 4-5 belts. This would be mannys 9 different division and this belt also carries the lineal championship Usually belts dont matter but this one does

I see what you're saying but it's just not true. Fighters care about belts/titles. Anyway, Martinez has a legit title at MW. He beat the man who beat the man who beat the man. It's not just a BS title like the one Pac just won a couple weekends ago. No slam to Pac but that is just a straight up BS belt, like you are mentioning.However, the problem is that if Manny were to fight Sergio at 160 for the belt, he'd get slaughtered, so that's never happening.

One thing is for sure. Martinez won't get away with keeping his hands down like he's used to. It's either Martinez by KO or Pac UD via Margarito style beating.
