Arum and Koncz predicted 1.4-1.5M for Pac-Marg.
Schaefer predicted over 3M for May-Mosley.
Numbers wise, both are huge and successful, but which was more of a letdown based on predictions?
Gino Ross, c'mon down!
Anybody who says Floyd vs. Mosley was a let down is a fukking idiot. It's a let down because GBP said it would sell 3M, but it sold 1.4? Lol. Floyd vs. Mosley weren't on prime time TV, all the major shows, etc. Nobody on here expected this fight to sell more than 2 million and you can look for the thread on here and post people said it would sell around 1.5-1.7M.
Neither was. If you are just stooping to Gino Ross PPV addiction, then that is your problem. It is quite clear what his agenda is on top of trying his worst to be a Pinoy :). I just steer clear of his threads.
IMO, boxing fans should considerably have less interest on the money angle than on actual fights. But there are some who really dig the $$$.
I hate the $$$ argument though I recognize its big importance to the boxing business. But it often in the way of good fights.

i have no problem, jeez it was just a dig, why preach? LOL. how come ppl here can't get it?
:pat:

Now if you were to average the pre de la hoya numbers
Floyd
Zab Judah - 374,000
Arturo Gatti - 365,000
Carlos Baldomir - 325,000
Average = 354,667
Manny
Juan Manuel Marquez Rematch - 400,000
Erik Morales 3rd Match - 360,000
Marco Antonio Barrera Rematch - 350,000
Average = 370000
Many outsells Floyd by 15,333
Recalculated. Actually Floyd = an average of 1.453 not 1.53 so 1.45 and Pac without Clottey to even out the 4 best is 1.11 so Floyd has outsold many by 340k ppv buys...If you add clottey which would be 1 more fight then Floyd Pac would have outsold floyd by 360k ppv buys. What other ppv's did floyd have aside those 4 and which was the highest selling outside the ? to better compare the best 5
Considering Mosley is not a draw by himself, and Margarito is, it should be an easy call. I personally think Shaefer was over thinking if that's what he predicted.
Actually they say 4 million and they just missed 2.6 million
Pacquiao basically sold 1.15 alone .
Just look how much PPV Margarito sold in his last fight,
it was around 10 000 PPV s.the same thing could be said about shane--he went back to fighting on undercard fights and espn-lol---look at marquez's numbers before he fought floyd---
neither was a let down imo--i don't listen to what schaffer says---i knew may vs mosley wouldn't sell as much as he predicted---only may vs manny would and could sell that much on ppv---
because I forgot lol
adding in Cotto's 1.2 brings the average to 1.04
To balance it out more evenly it also has to average with the same amount of fights. You can't average Pac's last 5 fights vs. Floyd's 4. Either take out Clottey or add another floyd ppv fight.
dude I know you are looking for an angle to sh1t on Mayweather but did you really take the word of Schaefer seriously?
did you really think he did research when he said this?
cmon man
actually this was a dig at the dominican kunt, not mayweather. in any case, who does research really into ppv predictions? or how do they do it.
i agree that based on numbers alone, NEITHER was a letdown. but this thread is not that but with a premise of a prediction. if you were a promoter and truly expecting MORE THAN HALF of what you really got, how would you feel.

if you go by their averages post from De La Hoya on NEITHER should be a let down per se BUT Mayweather did less than his average while Pacquiao did slightly more
Mayweather
DLH= 2.4
Hatton= 915
JMM= 1.1
Mosley= 1.4
average= 1.53 million buys
Pacquiao
DLH 1.25
Hatton: 850
Clottey: 700
Margarito: 1.15
average 980k buys

i saw you clapping in between rounds...you were the only one standing up
stop fronting, Everlast guy
actually was rooting for a double knockout then bathroom break

Where your reading comprehension sucks, I was just going along with your assumption but that went over your head.
Here is the context of your post. TR predicted 1.5 but did 1.1. Which was less than the prediction by 400k. GBP predicted 3mil while it did 1.4mil. Which was less than the prediction by 1.6mil.
Which goes with GBP being more of a letdown since it did over a mili less than predicted. However, 1.4mil being a letdown? It is top 3 highest none HW PPv. And, considering that Pac never reached that number how could anybody call that a letdown? Think about it?
Yes I know it is also a shot and a comeback to a stupid Dominican faggot in Gino Ros but why not ignore that idiot? Or why make a duplicate stupid ass thread, which trying to prove a dumbass point? Everybody who read your post knows the context is in? But, it is still a useless stupid ass post...
why you bothered if this post is a shot or not at Gino? it aint you so why you b1tchiing about this thread? :lol1:
and again, did i say that the numbers per se is a letdown? READ AGAIN. it was premised w/ the prediction numbers. you got it now? again, carry on and move to another thread where you'll look less foolish.
so you replied earlier based on half the title and not the post? lol now that's what a fool probably would do.
did i say the ppvs were not successful? read again. do you need some help interpreting the context of the whole post?

floyd's were more disappointing, probably b/c schaffer hyped the bout up to do something like 3 million buys....lol.
i didn't think pacquiao-margarito would come close to 1 million, so these aren't the numbers pacquiao fans hoped for, but i think this fight was a success.
