If Mayweather doesn't come through again I say Pacquiao moves up and challenges Martinez for the middleweight crown. I think it's an excellent fight, it's hard to say who would win that. Catch weight of 156 maybe.
Middleweight is the highest I could possibly see Pacquaio going, and for those of you who say it's not realistic look at De La Hoya vs Hopkins. The weights were
Hopkins 156 lbs, De La Hoya 155 lbs. That 5-6 pound difference could be added in muscle for pacman.
edit: margarito vs pac on fight night 165, martinez 166 in his last fight discuss....
Exactly what I'm saying, no one should blame Pacquiao for not fighting Martinez
Hell, I'll even give Floyd a pass on this one, it's not like he is a big welter
it would be absurd to call somebody in the lower and smaller weight ducking someone at the higher weight division especially one who is naturally bigger, but what can you expect from flomos they will sure call it that because flomos are absurdity by themselves.

Sergio just came out of the 154 division, he fought Cintron in 2009 at that weight and was 152½ for the fight before Cintron in 2008.
Yea that was Feb. 2009 almost two years ago, he has outgrown JMW, even if he could make it to 155 why would he?? he is the champ, Pacquiao would b challenging him for his title , Martinez shouldn't have to give concessions to a challenger no matter who this one might b
In theory it looks like a good idea, but Martinez is no Margarito, Martinez is athletic and has decent footwork, and unlike Margarito he goes in and out and uses angles.
A catchweight is out of the question, why would Martinez want to do a catchweight? He is the champ at 160, if Pacquiao wants it, he shouldn't demand a catchweight, the only way I see Sergio coming down is if he challenges Pacquiao for the 154 trinket...
Asking Pacquiao to move up to MW might be too much anyways, so I don't think it will happen, and if it doesn't Pacquiao shouldn't be seen like he ducked Martinez...

Pacquaio would be fighting a man the same size as Margarito. The difference is purely skill level. Martinez is much more skilled than Margarito and would put up a very good fight if anything makes up for the 155 c/w it's the skill level of Sergio that evens the fight out.
Martinez is 35 years old, he's grown into a legitimate MW, if I remember right he was walking at around 175 before the Williams fight , so draining himself to make 155 would probably get rid of his speed, power, and movement.

Pacquiao and his people were saying that size didn't matter, so y not make the the fight with Martinez at 160 for the MW title? Let Sergio come in at 160 and Pacquiao can come in at 147 for all I care...
Answer: Cuz Arum and Roach know that Martinez is not like Margarito and Pacquiao would probably would suffer the same fate at Williams under these circumstances....
the 155 c/w proposed by dibella would be more in favor of pacman IMO.
and this fight would be much more competitive with more two way action and at least seem fair when they get in the ring

Yea of course it would favor Manny, cuz Sergio would have to drain himself to make the weight, while Manny would probably come in at 150 max.
This fight is out of the question in my opinion, Martinez is just too good and too big, and based on his comments I dnt thnk he would accept a catchweight to defend HIS title..
