Pacquiao Says He IS Willing To Fight Sergio Martinez under 150 lbs

And today, ABS CBN news.com have a short interview article with Pacquiao, in which the fighter-congressman speaks about who he would like to fight next, in 2011. And guess what? Manny said he IS willing to fight Martinez, the very fighter many fans wholeheartedly dismissed as a future foe for the Filipino legend. Pacquiao, when asked who he’d fight next, after taking that well earned six month break he spoke about previously, said he’d fight “anyone,” including Martinez. There is, however, a catch: Pac-Man said that if a fight between he and Martinez did happen, it would have to be fought at under 150-pounds. Pacquiao fought and defeated Margarito at a catch-weight of 150-pounds (Margarito, by the way is even taller than Martinez, by a full inch), and he says he would be willing to do pretty much the same with the reigning middleweight champ. http://www.ea$tsideboxing.com/news.php?p=25855&more=1

i'd love to see them both fighting each other. but the weight difference would keep them from fighting. Manny's last fight he only weighed 148 lbs and Sergio weighed around 170 lbs give or take. the fight wont happen unless Sergio is willing to weigh 150 lbs or Manny is willing to weight 156 lbs. but one of them wouldnt be at their best if the fight happens.Post of the day! Im planning on fight the K-bros at a catch-weight of 160:D Well since they would have to chop off a leg in addition to weight draining themselves, I think you'd have a pretty good chance :D

floyd needs to man up also and fight a challenge, if martinez cant find a good fight at 160 then he should move up and challenge someone at 168 and besides its not martinez that said he wanted a piece of pac its the press that brought his name up at an opponent for pac and mayweather....i want all these pound for pound guys to fight tough oppositon...all of them i'd love to see them both fighting each other. but the weight difference would keep them from fighting. Pacquiao can perfectly fight Martinez at 156 IMO. Can he? Yes.. Should he? I don't think it would be smart on his part. Both, Martinez and Manny, realize that the weights are too far apart to get this fight to happen. Manny would be coming in weighing under 147 (144 for the Marg fight) on the fight night weigh-in and wouldn't come in more than 149 fight night. I want to see the fight.. Manny will be fighting a MW at fight night. This would be like Martinez fighting Haye when he was in the CW division.

Martinez said he couldn't go below 156.. is he also saying 'ill only fight a bloated pacquiao'? There's two ways to look at it.. Martinez and Pacquiao realize it.. Pacquiao can perfectly fight Martinez at 156 IMO.

I just hope Martinez holds his ground and doesn't go below 154; that is a travesty if he did, and a joke. I agreed I hope Martinez holds his ground and I hope Manny holds his ground and doesn't bloat himself up to 154.. that would be a joke as well.. Manny would get stretched.. IMO Martinez has history fighting below 154 lbs. Yet, Manny weighed in 144 lbs in the weigh -in for the Marg fight and has never even weighed in at 147 in his career (pre night weigh-in). Both Martinez and Manny realize that Martinez is just too big.. 20 lbs.. Like Martinez fighting in the CW division..

Pacquiao deserves whatever heat he is gonna get for this. In all honesty, this is a fight I expect to happen a year from now and hopefully they can meet at 154-156.....with Manny coming in way under as usual.

skills do win fight but u can be the best skilled fighter in the world, if your going up against someone that is just as skilled as u and outweight u by over 20lbs then good luck, its gonna be a tough fight for u. i agree...then just dont fight the guy and say what it is...the guy is too big...dont say youll fight him at 150 to make it look like you want to fight him...its not ducking or being scared it just knowing your limits and i can respect that

this is f*ckin stupid. sergio and pwill are too dam big for floyd or pac. lets talk about reasonable fights. pac and floyd need to be focused on each other. and while i understad that floyd and pac is where the $ is at, sergio and pwill need to look tofight guys more their size. EVEN sergio said pac was too small. so enuff about pac vs sergio. One of the few on here without hate on their mind.. Mannys statement just confirmed that.
