That would greatly help the sport. Huge Floyd fan but he doesn't have the drive that Martinez has, Martinez is constantly lookin' to face the best and he never complains. Neither does he seek out any unfair advantages.
If he keeps this up (And me, I couldn't care less about P4P) I'd rate him number 1 on the P4P list. His win over Pavlik and Paul Williams is better than anything Pacquiao and Mayweather have done recently.
Actually, I kind of agree with the TS. But the thing is that before Floyd became no 1 he was fighting the best, and before Pac became no 1 he was fighting the best. To me it seems that when you reached number one you pick the fight you know you'll win and you don't give a ****, like Pac and Floyd.
I hope that if Martinez become no 1 one day, he'll continue to fight the best and don't do the same thing
I share the same view.
Hopefully, Sergio will continue this fighting this trend. Much respect. He don't have much ring mileage yet so he may very well be the next superstar in the next years. :D
Man... If Pirog would be given also a chance, he may be right in line to challenge Martinez. Now, that would be very sweet. :boxing:
I agree with, Emauel Steward. Martinez is in a no mans zone of no one to fight his size for big money. Neither Floyd or Manny is going to dance with him.
I have said that Martinez is the best example of a boxing champion that you can have. He moves up or down in weight to make fights, meets others catchweight demands, always puts on a great show, and has the skills to pay the bills too. Dude was due for some recognition and i knew he would be eons better in this fight since he has the ability to adjust nd he had a full training camp.
People just kept talking about the short camp Williams had before the first bout but Martinez had 4 weeks to prepare and Williams had like 3 months (albeit 2 of the months were training for an orthodox boxer)
Martinez is what boxing is about!!!!!
thats REAL!!!....Manny got a 154 strap for his last fight....I think he should defend it against the MW champ.....Martinez has had one impressive night after the next...if there's a fighter just as hot as Manny right now....IMO its Sergio Martinez....if Floyd and Manny can't compromise then Martinez should get the next fight with Manny
hell yea!! have the, both put their belts up at a cathcweight. thats certsinly better than the farce of the margarito fight.

Time for him to get paid and well deserved.

Cosign. Too bad he isn't 10 years younger. If he was, he'd be the next face of boxing for sure.
