If Paul Williams was in the same shape he was when he last left 147, then that is the toughest fight I can imagine for him. Paul Williams has a constant flicking jab that Pac would have far too much trouble getting past, Pac is damn near a foot shorter. Add in the constant activity and Pac wouldn't be able to escape it. On topic however, Paul Williams could make 147 but I don't think he would be that healthy in doing it. He's been at 154-160 for a few fights now, it would not be easy for him to get back down. he was down to 147 since his last fight trying to get a fight there

We all know the opponents, atleast some of us. they have been fighting challenges for the most part. okay diaz wasn't one but pac was jumping up a division. okay jmm wasn't one but floyd was coming off a 2 year layoff almost. mosley was just a challenge for floyd. cotto was for pac. hatton was for pac. delahoya was one for floyd , it was his first at 154 and delahoya was still solid. people think , "oh you have to fight someone that can beat you" yeah that's how it works with most guys. but when you're a #1 p4p fighter , not many of those guys exist. that's why you fight guys like hatton , gatti or clottey or whatever. guys that are good even though they might not be able to beat you.

Then we'll agree to disagree. I gave Pacquiao credit for beating the much bigger Margarito, although he easily sliced through him. I think it's time he challenges himself, and again...I don't see Paul at 47 presenting much of a challenge. I agree, I don't know why people even ask the question. He's said he can do it over and over and if he signs the contract he'll make the weight. ever since delahoya , everyone makes this big deal about going down a division. fact is delahoya didn't even go down a whole division. the guy went down 3 lbs. he was fighting at 150 catchweights before that. plus he was old and past it and on top of that he did some stupid new kangaroo diet thing. fact is a lot of people go down in division. some succeed , some don't. these are pro athletes that have been cutting weight since they were teenagers fighting in the amateurs. they know what they're doing. sometimes they screw it up but usually they can get in decent enough shape.

No, I said personally I don't think Paul can be a healthy 147 pounder. And in the past I've said I wanted Mayweather to fight Paul Williams at 154 for the same reasons. If he hadn't gassed out he would have won. Pacquiao will do all those things only better, aside from gas out. He'll use his feet to get in and out faster, he's figure out his openings the way Sergio did but sooner (Sergio didnt figure out his best punch until Rd 9), and he'll throw/land way more punches. No way Williams lasts 12 at 147. only problem is pacquiao doesn't really fight like sergio. he can in spurts but he doesn't really do it. it's not in his nature. another thing is sergio has like a half of foot on pacquiao and longer reach as well. closer comparison would be williams-quintana. it could be like the 1st one or it could be like the 2nd where pac gets ktfo.
