Manny Pacquiao -vs- Paul Williams at 147! Official Poll!

IMO, at 147 Pac has a very tiny slim chance beating Pwil. At 154 and up Pwill toys with Pac with the height and reach advantage.

Manny Pacquiao's forehead would be level with Paul's chest. Come on people.

i think people are just joking because the matchup is kinda ridiculous tbh. pwill dwarfs the current middleweight champion. but seriously pac has a chance of beating him with his skills and speed but a 5'6 145 lb. man should not be favored against a 6'4 170 man. pacquiao is the greater fighter but pwill is a good fighter also. size will matter. For the purposes of the poll the fight would be at 147. I know Williams will rehydrate after the weigh in, but 23 lbs? Also, Williams lists at 6'1. I met him in AC after Martinez/Pavlik I believe and he was no taller than 6'2 max. At the end of the day, it's still a size advantage but.. a bigger issue would be how effective Williams still is at making 147.

I think many people before after the Cotto and Clottey fights started to believe Pac is superman. That has increased quite a bit after the Marg fight. After watching his training footage for the upcoming rematch with Sergio Martinez, I doubt Paul Williams could make 147 healthy. I've been questioning his ability to make 147 healthy for a while now.. If he can't do it then he's out of the Pacquiao discussion. He should make his next fight win or lose at 147. Against at least a Luis Collazo level opposition.

It's not like Williams relies on his foot speed or body twists from different poses to conceal attacks like so many other speedster fighters. Speedy fighters often end up using their speed to simply survive rounds (Clottey) but Williams is not normal. His work rate is going to come from all glove positions and body postures from LONG range. I've always said Williams is the best with gloves on and it was he that deserved the chance Margaritto took and failed at. Manny fighting Williams may not have the same reflex reaction of salivation for boxing fans that the though of Floyd/Pacman brings but you know what - Floyd just might be done. There's a new very public push just taking on momentum to stop and punish bullies so FMJ's attorneys have a full plate. 1. Williams cant go back to 147 and stay healthy. 2. Even if he would, Williams is still about 6'2" with a huge reach advantage, volume punching and speed descent enough to cause problems 3. Williams is not marketable, not Top Rank and holds no titles at 147 therefore, this fight will NEVER happen...EVER

Manny wins this pretty decisively. Manny's speed and timing would be too much as also PWilliams doesn't have the power to hurt or keep Manny at bay. I see a 9-3 type decision with Williams having moments here and there. BTW Manny wouldn't have any issues connecting on Williams chin. Tyson was 5'10" connecting on guys 6'5" and 6'6" tall as did a lot of other smaller HW's when facing guys that were 6-8 inches taller than them.

I don't know man. On one hand, Pac has beaten bigger men but that huge height advantage, I'm just not sure he can deal with that and the 1000 punches coming at him. Tough tough call. I'll say PW UD?? Edit- I could be WAY off base here from his last performances. Cheato has the all time record on Punches in the fight!! It doesnt matter to Pac.

But he is very good. If Williams defence was as terrible as it was in his last fight Pac stands a good chance. But i doubt Pac would fight him at 154. Pac shouldn't and won't fight Williams at 154. He honestly doesn't have any business fighting above 147. He can make 147 very well and probably even 140. If Williams proves himself a dangerous 147 lber, then do it. If not, then no. At this particular moment, all roads(other than Mayweather's) lead to Pacquiao. He's earned it.

Paul wins this fight handily. Pac is a great fighter but he isn't a blown up, one dimensional Margarito or Hatton. Williams is a legit fighter that would be to rangy, aggressive and big for Pacman. Pacquiao isn't God, people. But he is very good. If Williams defence was as terrible as it was in his last fight Pac stands a good chance. But i doubt Pac would fight him at 154.

acording to the king of momos pistol whip pac fighting a middle weight is way too much even if the middleweight can still mkae 147 and be effective hahaha I'm a Pacquiao fan and I'm fine with it. If Williams is willing to sign a contract for 147, provided he fight their first with a healthy performance. I say go for it. As evidenced by this poll, most would favor Pacquiao to win.
