Can someone please explain to me the difference between Lineal champion and Alphabet (ABC?) champion? And Lineal titles vs. Alphabet titles, and how the whole process works?

But when they announce the winner after the fight, they say the winner of his 8th world championship, were they referring to 8 different weight classes including catchweights or something? counting lineal and abc titles he's won titles in 8 different weight classes.

he's not and no one is saying that. you misheard. pac is considered lineal in 4 (112 , 126 , 130 and 140) by most pac is considered lineal in 3 (126 , 130 and 140) by ring magazine pac was an alphabet champion in 6 (112 , 122 , 130 , 135 , 147 and 154) Okay thanks for breaking it down.
