He displayed more than sheer power but finesse, combination speed, footwork, ringmanship AND SPORTMANSHIP. Compassion towards Margarito. Sorry but I'm not buying that. I don't doubt that Manny Pacquaio is a good human being. I think he is. But let's not get ridiculous. Fighters get paid to hurt people. And if Pacquaio didn't want to hurt Margarito he wouldn't have inflicted the damage that he did. My problem is, if any other fighter lets off in the 12th round, people say he "lacks killer instinct" but when Manny does it it somehow makes him a nice guy. Manny didn't go for the knockout because it wasn't good strategy to do so, and I commend him for that. He did what a smart boxer would do in that situation. To say that he is just so good of a person he didn't want to hurt anybody is silly to me. He's a boxer, its part of his job to hurt people, and hes done it plenty of times. If he really had a problem with hurting someone he would be in a different line of work.

people don't realise pacman was punching up towards his face which means he loses a lot of power from the 5 inch height difference. Also he faced a guy who was 17lb heavier and well conditioned. Marg got an orbital fracture against a guy who has to punch upwards to hit his face....that is some serious comparative power. Mosley might have more power only because he is punching straight and using his shoulders when he fought marg but if manny was taller then he would have more power than mosley when fighting some1 of marg's height. Now if he faces some1 like floyd then he will be able to generate a lot more power purely because floyd isn't much bigger than manny. The fact is marg wouldn't have been able to take those punches and last if he wasn't really well conditioned and damn he definately was cause he took a beating.

First things first, I love Pacquiao. He is an amazing fighter. But aren't people going overboard here. Im I the only one who noticed Shane Mosley was more impressive in his KO of Margarito. Pacquiao looked great but Mosley destroyed Margo. Now I am not saying Mosley should be fighting Pacquiao. But before we anoint Manny the greatest fighter ever, we need to realized the Margo was damaged goods coming in. These attempts to discredit Pac by haters are getting more and more pathetic. Sad.

As a matter of fact everyone including Roach himself expected Pac to knock Margorito out by 7 which he didn't do. Now does it mean Pac's victory wasn't impressive because he didn't knock him out? No not at all. It was a very impressive victory nonetheless, but Shanes was more impressive due to the fact that no one expected him to do that Margo and everyone expected the results of what Manny did. Perhaps the fact that Marg outweighed Pac by 20lb and had a 5 inch height and reach advantage makes Pac's win more impressive.

The biggest difference between Mosely’s and Pacquiao’s performances against Margarito was Mosely’s consistent body attack - especially in the early rounds. If Pacquiao attacked the body more, it would have been an easier fight and he would have scored a KO. I kept wondering why Manny was just head-hunting the whole time. If you notice Margarito’s face after fighting Mosely – it was unmarked. It was the body attack.

Of course the Mosley win is much better, Margarito was a P4P fighter at the time and ranked number one at the WW, Pacman fought a shot weight drained Margarito while loaded up with illegal substances, +100 except for the weight drained Margo part and Pac being loaded up with illegal substances.

38 year old Mosley left the Margarito fight without a scratch. And certainly wasn't even close to being KO'd. So yeah, he was more impressive. That said, Pac's fight was more exciting in a way

not in a million yrs. shane was throwin bombs which were good if not great. he also showed that he can dance with that strategy of his, holding/clinching and wut not. pac showed a display of boxing that was just extraordinary. he even let Marg tee off on him a bit and managed to exchange with him. i mean come on...had it been mosley trading with him instead of dancing who knows how that fight might have ended,but pac showed that he can take some HARD shots.

He could have also not being ready for the fight after the cotto win and shed more pounds during that fight. The 165 and determined margarito is > than 145 and distracted

It is because that mosley and marg r the same size and pac was outweigh by 17lbs by marg? nothing impressive...they were under the same rules and pac even had a catchweight. its amazing how pacquiao can fight at catchweights and then when he wins he gets credit for beating bigger guys. Pac was better, cos he made Margarito look like the elephant man. Come to think of it. Has anyone in history of boxing made their opponents look like elephan man as much as pac makes his opponents. But people are arguing SSM win was better are the same people saying Pac destroying Hatton in 2 rounds isnt as good as Floyd winnin in 10 rounds against hatton. Shows pac dominance.

Meh, they're equal. Mosley is bigger and hits harder, Pac kills with volume. They each performed as excellent as they possibly could, neither was more impressive than the other.
