This fight instantly made me sick to my stomach last night, something I've never seen in boxing. What I witnessed was a man incapable of fighting someone superior like Haye, it was like picking on someone who was mentally not all there in the head, an absolute disgrace on Hayemaker's Behalf. Harrison cannot compete at the top level, this was obvious from the start, why did this fight happen? It was just plain sad and a coward move by Haye in my opinion.
A world title fight with 1 jab landed by Harrison? that's all you need to know.
He knew exactly what he was doing when he signed for this fight, he was conning the British public.
What a disgrace
Rant over.
Haye didnt fight a Klitchko on saturday so he had to fight someone else.
He fought Harrison so he wouldn't have to fight a Klitschko. You got it the wrong way round.
And as someone else pointed out, he has constantly discredited the Klitschkos' opponents, yet Harrison wouldn't last one round with anyone either of the Klitschkos have fought in the last three years.
he WILL beat Wladimir....I find it fascinating that people always think the Klitaschko's are the same fighters. There is a huge difference between them.
Its the same when people refer to Haye as THE world champion...when in fact he had 1 of 4(5) belts, and it happens to be the WEAKEST one !
oh yeah :-) Lennox Lewis knows boxing alright ! he gave Audley a chance to win that fight ! But then again,he always backs a non-white fighter doesnt he...
I play pool for money. When I beat some cabbage,i do not get hard-on & tell everyone how great i am.
David Haye IS a good fighter,no doubt.
But he has not beaten any very good heavyweights yet. he ran away from a YETI for 12 rounds (common,is nicolai valuev a fighter/boxer at all...or just huge...there is a difference)
Then he beat monte Barrett who fell over the ropes before the fight even started....
He beat John Ruiz (who is tough) but is he a class fighter?
David haye is a 'legend' (in his own mind) already ! After fighting 3 bums and a clown.
Must be the camera's and all that !
I 'know' he wants Wlad first...and who knows...I think he will retire and not fight Vitali.
ONE thing he knows for sure, unless he gets a doctor to stop the fight against Vitali with a cut,he is not going to get far.Thats why ***** LL did not fight VK again.
Wladimir will take a few bombs and call it a night.he wont beat Haye !
BOXING....weird game...You call everyone ****,but when you beat them, you consider yourself GREAT ! what a joke !
What's even more disgusting is that Haye is ducking the Klitschko brothers.
What's even more disgusting is that Haye discredits the Klitschko's opponents even though they're all far superior to Harrison.
Haye didnt fight a Klitchko on saturday so he had to fight someone else. I cant bring myself to blame him for choosing Harrison, the boxing community (myself included) might have preffered him to tangle with an Arreola or an Admek but the truth is casual fans havent even heard of them guys. Harrison is well known in the UK and the two have history, it made for a good fight story and gave a big underdog a final chance at realising his dream, there was call for this fight to happen over here and so it did, netting Haye more money than he would get for anyone not called Klitchko. And despite what people say now, it caught the boxing communitys imagination and people were giving Audley a real chance.
On the fight Harrision was terrible. I know where he was coming from but he needed to do more. U see he couldnt BOX Haye he's too slow and not elusive enough, and he couldnt go in all guns blazing he'd be flattened in seconds so he chose to shut up shop frustrate Haye, get the crowd booing and make Haye take silly risks like lunging in as the boos got to him then BANG Left cross counter - his one and only chance. Plan obviously didnt work but then neither would anything else. Still ONE JAB!?
I don't buy that interference conspiracy theory for a moment. Nigel Collins is one of the most respected and independent boxing journalists in the world, and would resign if GBP put any pressure on him. And other than the Haye coverage I have seen no evidence whatsoever that they are over-promoting GBP fighters at the expense of other fighters - quite the opposite; they have given Pacquiao a lot more praise than GBP would desire - and have been far more critical of Floyd than GBP would want them to be. In any case, I imagine GBP are as fed up with Haye's antics as anyone is. They are only his promoter for the US, and in the US, the only Haye fight anyone cares about is vs. one of the Klitschkos.
People think Haye needs to defend his paper title, when no one cares about it. The only fight die hard boxing fans care about in the HW division is Haye-Klitschko, no one else. Haye will now believe he should get the bigger purse vs Klitschko, which is pretty funny. Harrison is not even top 100 HW in the world.
Harrison-Haye was the biggest farce in british boxing.
The Ring is owned by GBP. David Haye has an American promotional contract with GBP.

He couldn't have done it without the help of the media. Especially the British media, but even the US media didn't really call him on it. The Ring said it was an "intriguing" fight, pretended Harrison was a live opponent, and completely misreported the whole ducking episode (effectively lying about it). It's the most disreputable behaviour by The Ring in their long and mostly admirable history. But the British media were much worse.
What article was that. In their weekend preview they called this match up what is was and even mentioned Haye ducking Klitschko.
He knew exactly what he was doing when he signed for this fight, he was conning the British public.
