Cotto actually personally visited Manny and talked to him for this fight. They are friends. What did Cotto say in the end of the interview is what I want to know.
Cotto said anyone that's been around Pacquiao knows there isn't the slightest doubt regarding his humbleness.
As for the Marquez translation he starts out by saying that Margarito needs to use distance and use straight punches, a 1-2 and counter with the uppercut, but always keeping his distance and moving his waist or else Pacquiao is gonna connect if he stays stationary. Margarito needs to keep his distance even when Pacquiao is throwing his hooks. Pacquiao is gonna be moving laterally so Margarito needs to be moving his waist and keeping his distance.
Then he talks about Margaritos disadvantages with Pacquiao's speed. Whenever Margarito throws a straight punch he'll run the risk of getting countered by Pac's left because of Pac's speed and that it won't be just one punch, it'll be a 3 punch combo. A disadvantage with Margarito's long arms is that Pac can get past Margarito's guard and land various punches on the inside.
Then on to Pacquiao. He's gonna be moving and feinting and throw his 1-2's then get into Margarito's guard use his speed and land his combos. Pacquiao has a habit of always moving his waist, feinting, and throwing his left and that's what Marquez thinks he's gonna do.
i agree, just think about the fight, right? i think he could make a good analyst like Teddy Atlas for the english ESPN. what did Cotto have to say?
I think so too. If anybody can speak boxing it would be Marquez. You mean when he met with Manny? I think Cotto just told him to kick Margarito's ass for him.
I don't think Marquez is bitter. I think he just wants to fight. They had close fights and I am sure Marquez is itching for another opportunity because I am sure he thought he won. I love Marquez, he is a straight up warrior.
