No, Manny wanted 24 days, and then he wanted 21 days. Floyd said 14 day to meet him the middle. Your man Pan turned that down. Now that they know Floyd already said no cut offs after that, they now decide that they will go down to 7 days...to late in Floyd’s mind because he already tried to meet Pac and Pac said no; now that Floyd is saying no after trying to meet Pac in the middle you guys (pactards and Pac fans are two diff types) the Pactards won’t open your eyes because your blinded with your love for Pac:wave:....
++++++++++++++++oh man! your basically agreeing that floyd is ducking pacquiao with the way you explain your rebuttal regarding testing..(floyd and flomos states that pac an easy fight and one dimensional fighter and going to whupped pac a33 but now floyd's bringing up roadblocks after roadblocks for the fight not to happen?)
Not easy to develop a country that started haphazardly with a very short-sighted approach. Its colonial past may have been the culprit. I don't know. Unlike here in North America, most things are planned on a very looong term basis. Just wondering what exactly Pacquiao could do to a province which doesn't even have the infrastructure for any development possible. He can't go on giving away cash. Soon he has to find a way to give people jobs. Question is how. But that's another subject for a non-boxing forum.
I do agree in a certain level but it isn't just the colonialism but the inherent pluralistic and regionalism that pervades the Filipino-American culture. That is something way beyond the scope of this thread as you put it.
Remember that there are 7,500 islands in the Philippines whereas when Magellan claimed the islands to King Phillip II of Spain, he isn't aware of the vast diversity of tribes that belong to these indigenous islands. The cultures were that of the Indonesian/Malayan hybrids that still pervade the country despite the 400 years of Hispanization and Americanization.
What you posted doesnt make sense. We already know Floyd is a clean athlete as proven in the Mosley fight. Nobody knows if Pacquiao is a clean athlete so a cut-off point is NOT an even playing field. Floyd said many months ago that the cut-off idea is off the table anyway. And he is not going to go back on that now. Pacquiao is just making more and more excuses to avoid the test and somehow try and make it look like Floyd is in the wrong.
Strangely enough. Some idiots have actually believed it.
++++++HOW SURE ARE YOU THAT FLOYD IS CLEAN ??? like i said if floyd or any other boxer who is out of competition for a long period can benefit more from peds used then comes clean by the time training starts up to the fight.. so how can they catch someone if the user already cycled the drugs off his system?.. read this interview on victor conte of balco for you to understand what i'm talking about and how conte criticizes floyd by not accepting the compromise(this compromise was the 14 days and now its 7 days cutoff). quoted-" For whatever claims they said about Floyd being drug testing for the Mosley fight, he was tested 19 days before the fight. Let's get real here. Floyd's saying my way or the highway, well that's BS. It's got to be a compromise and there's never going 100% (accurate test) and we need to acknowledge that and I think Manny has made an effort to compromise and move to Floyd's direction and I think Manny needs to be applauded for that." -- Victor Conte.. from: "http://www.examiner.com/filipino-sports-in-national/i-was-contacted-by-mayweather-s-people-exclusive-interview-with-victor-conte-part-2"...
another interview on victor conte where he admitted that a 10 day testing would be right and might also be the reason why floyd changes his mind regarding 14 days cutoff. quoted-
“I think you could do blood testing up to five days of a fight with no physical detriment to a participant,” Conte says. “A compromise of 10 days would be all right. But as soon as you go 14 days or more, that’s enough time to use EPO and build up your red blood cell count. At 24 days, there’s all sorts of things that can be done with thyroid medication, fast-acting forms of insulin, EPO, testosterone.". - from-http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/7653/conte-volunteers-catch-cheaters/..
and last but not the least: contes latest interview dated nov 5 2010 wherein he talks about out of competition peds used -quoted from the interview " I've had meetings with USADA officials on three separate occasions and advised them each time that the drug testing conducted at competitions is not the most effective use of resources. Athletes can simply taper off of the drugs and test negative within a short period of time. Elite athletes are primarily using drugs during the off-season. from "http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2010/11/victor-conte-discusses-being-uninvited-to-anti-doping-seminar.html"
now..WHY DIDN'T "CRUSADER" FLOYD ASK FOR OST FOR ALL YEAR ROUND IF HE REALLY WANTS TO CLEAN THE SPORT?... level playing field floyd says but is it really a level playing field if he is out of competition most of the time (assuming he uses peds like you assume pac on peds)..remember that pac has no problem being taken blood except closer to the fight bcoz for him it affects him physically and mentally (seconded by victor conte that not all athletes has the same effect mentally and physically).
the 1st article i mention might be the reason why floyd, his father, roger and jeff never refuted pac's 7 day cutoff because victor conte is agreeable to that compromise and they can't argue on that matter because they are the one's who asked conte for an adviced regarding roids/peds used.
i assumed that this explanation is not strange to you anymore so in copying your last line above " WHO'S THE IDIOTS NOW?
Wifebeater initially offered a 14-day cutoff. So why should there be a big deal if Manny agreed to even lower it to 7 days, we'll unless you are, as Bert Sugar would say, afraid to lose.
Pacquiao is an idealist...a rare breed thinking that GOVERNMENT or POLITICIANS can help the people (socialistic) but what is admirable is his intention to help out the poor people to whom he affectionately associate himself as "one of them".
And so yes, I concur...he could have developed some economic models/business that would employ the people while giving them a chance to work and work for themselves.
Well of course, charity is one thing that he understands very well. That is the root of his obsession on why he wanted to go to politics.

Politics is the same in every country. There will always be sycophants around telling you to enter politics even if all you did is to act in movies or become a beauty queen. (You have Sara Palin in the US, as an example. Hmm... or Caroline Kennedy, to be fair.) And I agree with you. Pac should have just let an engineer or a real estate developer to run his province and contributed his millions to its development. Celebrities don't have any business going into politics.

19 pages of this yet I have yet to see any proof that Floyd himself is doing this OST. Oh, wait, Floyd fans must know this one. Can anyone please show me proof? A link? Anything?
When Floyd actually does OST then you guys can say OST.
Until then you first have to convince your hero Floyd to actually do OST before you run 19 pages of Manny needs to do OST.
+++whats wrong with the 7 days cutoff ost? even floyd's ost request is not even considered full olympic drug testing since he only wants to be tested during training up to fight day. how about the days that floyd is out of competition/vacation? isn't it that floyd's "level playing field" isn't level after all bcoz floyd might be using roids/peds during those days then cycling them off when training starts up to fight time. "athletes benefits more when using peds/roid out of competition-victor conte"
The anonymity- of not knowing when is your last test....thats the deterring factor. The decision should be up to the agency and not the subjects.
I loathed his decision going politics, IMHO he could still help the people with his money/business than ruin his last leg of his legendary career in boxing.
But there's nothing that a 50 million dollar fight (could be around 60 million by next year as people hype the fight) could not ever fix! I could imagine the money he is pouring in his hometown General Santos to make a positive dent into the economy while his charities would also be bolstered.
Well of course, beating Mayweather would be the icing and in his legacy cake. It would definitely be the last fight and the most awesome way to retire...beating the best.

Manny could have waited a couple of more years, retire and then take up politics.
Pac with an additional career as a politician, that's totally unrealistic. That's like saying training preparation begins as soon as this Saturday's fight is over.

Here's to the hopeful 2011 fight...Let it be May, June or July. :boxing:

As much as I am a fan of Mayweather's superior technical prowess and talents, it is his heart that I question. He could probably even beat Pacquiao in his prime.
But Pacquiao is fastly approaching a "scary" combination of his speed, power and stamina that could possibly deter Mayweather's shoulder roll defense and accurate potshotting in the form of Right Crosses and Lunging Left Lead Hooks...
That's why this fight has to happen. So many intruiging and drooling technicalities that would make the geeky pugilist fan in me ever stimulated.
Sure I am a Pacquiao fan and a Filipino-American. But I would not let this get into the way of "boxing first" mentality.
This fight would surely lure back the fans into seemingly dying sport amidst the rivaling spectator sports such as the MMA, UFC, K-1 and the like madness.

This is all irrelevant. Floyd and his people didn't want to have anything to do with Pacquiao since the Hatton and Cotto demolitions and we've heard everything from OST to A-Side Meth to taxes as reasons why they will never let Floyd Jr go anywhere near a ring with Manny.
The plain and simple truth that the majority of the world can see clearly but some can't accept is that a man who calls himself 'Money' ran away and hid from a supposed one dimensional midget instead of making an easy $50+ million pay day.
Now the fight that was never going to happen, will not happen- Floyd ducked his court date and the arraignment was pushed back to late January along with his Uncle/fellow women beater. So that means no fight in the Spring and if Floyd gets out of jail time, the earliest he can fight will be in the fall when he's 34 and inactive for a year and 1/2. He'd want another tune-up and will have more stories about why he can't fight, and no one will care at that point.
This bullsh*t and Floyd's underwhelming career is over. Pour out some liquor on the curb and move on.
No, I don't think it's all over for Floyd's career. He has no choice but to continue boxing if only to pay his expensive lawyers. Not to mention living in Vegas is not exactly peanuts. With that lifestyle of his, a couple of millions can't be enough. He will definitely come back. Question is, who is he going to fight next?
I'm sure it won't be Pacquiao. After his fight with Marg, win or lose, Pac will certainly take a year (minimum) off from boxing.
So all eyes will be focused on Floyd by 2011. Can't wait for his official announcement by then.
Ya dumb fuk , it was not asked it was written in the very first draft given them that they agreed to at the time , and them Arum used it to get of the fight because Floyd agreed to everything that they thought he would say no to , Floyd said no to nothing lol , in the end they had to pull the OST because everything else failed to run Floyd off , Floyd signed Manny didnt , these are professional people not little boys playing marbles , you need to pull your head out your ass because the sh!t is dribbling all over your lap .
Yeah I agree use comon sense , for 50 mill and fame beyond compare if your not a drug user you have no problem with taking a blood test for drugs .
ummm yeahhh.... The boxing/sporting world, most fans,,,,time magazine and 60 minutes are dumb... Fooled by a midget filipino.. The only intelligent people are those who think like you and your small contingent of fellow flomos.. Yeah we get it... uh huh... hehehehehe.. Which way did he go george? which way did he go?
Floyd slandered Manny. Did not ask him in a civilized way. He let his paranoia out the bag and started damaging another mans reputation, then he asked for OST... But what does that have to do with it. Manny compromised, koncz says 7, Manny Roach say all the way. HBO wonders why Floyd did not want the fight and so did many others. Most were o.k. with 14, 7 days and a test after the fight, if you have common sense, you might have as well said 0 (which manny had alluded to). Let's use 7 days since you flomos seem to be stuck on that number. Manny is tapering down and is willing to take a test right after the fight, common sense... You guys would rather push an agenda then a fight. Quit being a fan boy and go common sense.

and here you go. pactardation.
I know it hurts. Let it burn, let it burn. Mourn the homey Floyd's career with the rest of us. It's shoulder rolling and pot-shotting to boring UDs in Boxing Heaven. Pour out some liqour and sing the song :friday:

I dont think Floyd is close to being the greatest that ever lived , I dont think it could even be defined , Floyds a great fighter so is Pac and so has there been many throughout history that could beat the other on their night , the greatest is fanboy opinion , I have no idea of who would be the greatest of the greatest , opinion can be a total lie just as easy as it can be fact ,
Address my points made in my posts fanboy not my demeaner !
quit pretending, you know Floyd is your daddy.
What has that got to do with why Pac refused it and is constantly trying to water it down , Floyds reason has fuk all to do with Pac response , its Pac playing around with it is what is highly suspicious .
Your such a fuken fanboy , how in the hell can Floyd have no right to ask for this others have , he is the fuken one in there , he doesnt want to lose under false pretences , you can never get that back , why should he trust Pac ? when its been proven Pac is a liar to the people he is supposed to love yet somebodyy he wants to hurt is supposed to trust him , fuk off dickhead , Pacs own trainer says in this business you cant trust nobody ,,, and to top it off Pac takes supllements he openly admits not knowing whats in it , all from a team connected to PED use in the past ,,,,,,,,,,,,
You kids are fuked in the head with your idolism that ignores reason and logic .
