Juanma beat him up... yes, Rafa hurt him twice, but Rafa is and always has been a impressively powerful puncher. Juanma proved he can sustain powerful punches and continue his relentless approach, until he makes his opponent quit or knocks them out of conciousness.
Juanma was the better man last night, plain and simple.
He fractured his shoulder blade dummy. Don't you get that that is a performance affecting injury. Aside from being injured, smaller, older and war torn, he still was cracking Juanma and still managed to hurt him more than he got hurt himself. Juanma was beginning to tire and if Rafa would not have been hurt, it would have been a dog fight to the end. Rafa has proven himself as a warrior and there is no disputing that.

funny how these ricans and stans make fun of mexicans quiting at lest they are old when they quit on there stools .but ricans quit in there primes but just to make it worse they quit on there knees
yeap Victor Ortiz just got his first ss check lol, great fight and 2 things got proven last night ,Marquez still has it but it just wasnt enough against JuanMa and juanma wanted to show people that he could take a punch and he did
Juanma still gets wide, but it looks like that is just who he is. I think it'll cost him against a guy like Gamboa and not Caba actually. Because Gamboa will loop his quick right hand inside in exchanges.
Marquez fought well. He's just not strong enough. I definitely don't buy the shoulder excuse as of now. Lopez was breaking him, you could clearly see.
What do you expect when a guy is outsized, older and fighting with one arm?

but Juanma made a healthy Rafa quit.
Healthy? Rafa stopped throwing the right after the 5th... And take that f@g outta your avy... It's starting to rub off on u.
a prime rafa can finish juanma in 1 round. juanma's chin is suspect just like cotto.
Exactly... Rafa was clearly so much smaller than Juanma in there and the manner in which he hurt Juanma was very telling. A healthy Rafa finishes the Rican Champ and big bro J.M. Marquez embarasses the boy. Bob & Oscar, make that fight.
Please tell me you are not thinking of the fight where the slow ass Mexican weakling had plaster wraps????
How much more desperate does it get kids? :bottle:
FAIL no proof here take a knee with your :bottle:
I know you all ain't talking ****, Rafa was clearly the smaller man, 35 years old and obviously past his prime. And he still hurt Juanma more than Juanma hurt him. Yes, Juanma is a great fighter, but he was the fighter with all the advantages tonight and Rafa solidified his status as one of the great Mexican warriors. This fight does not get added to the list of significant Mexican vs Puerto Rican battles, given the circumstances...
I hope you were watching the same fight.
Al Bernstein: If you're gonna believe anybody about an injury, it's Rafael Marquez. How can anyone dispute that? Did you not watch the fights he had with Izzy Vazquez? Props to Rafa for going toe to toe with one of the biggest punchers in boxing right now.
Common sense tells you that if you have an injury you are more prone to performing below your par. A healthy Rafa finishes Juanma in the fifth round.

Sure your not saying that it doesn't count as a significant fight in the rilvary. I bet during round four all you mexican *****es got a hard on.
Funny how he wasn't complainning to his corner in the rounds before he quit. We all know the shoulder wasn't injured before the fight.
I have the utmost respect for Rafa but he was getting worn down by Juanma he wasn't going to survive another round and took the easy way out.
You must be an idiot where did I say his win doesn't count?
I ain't trying to discredit **** dude, I'm just stating the facts...

LOL, you all are like kids... Rafa had Juanma hurt and almost outta there. Juanma carried all the advantages here and Rafa still gave him hell; Even with an injured shoulder! Don't you all understand that if his arm was healthy he would have probably stopped Lopez?
