Why is it that Floyd fights the winner and Pacquiao fights the loser of big fights?

I just thought about this. Alot of Pacquiao's opponents were coming off big losses when he beat them. Now usually if you are considered the best in the world you should fight the best. Here as some examples of Pacquiao fighting the losers of big fights rather than the winners. Erik Morales - Had just lost every round to Zahir Raheem in a lopsided decision. Pacquiao fought Erik not once but twice a division lower than where Raheem beat him. Pacquiao never considered fighting Raheem. Oscar Larios - Had just been knocked out in 3 rounds by Israel Vasquez in the fight prior. Moved up 2 divisons and still went the 12 rounds. Oscar De La Hoya - Had just lost to Mayweather Jr at 154. Pacquiao fought him at 147 and refuses to fight Floyd because of drug testing. Ricky Hatton - Was brutally knocked out by Floyd Mayweather Jr 3 fights prior. Pacquiao will not fight Mayweather Jr for reasons already explained. Miguel Cotto - Was beaten around the ring by Antonio Margarito who had loaded gloves. Pacquiao fought him shortly after at a catchweight. Antonio Margarito - Completely dominated and knocked out by Shane Mosley. Pacquiao's trainer refused to fight Mosley even at a catchweight because he is "too good of a fighter". Pacquiao is now fighting Margarito at a catchweight for a vacant belt. Mayweather Jr however has a long history of fighting the best fighters and sometimes even beating the winners AND losers of big fights to prove he is the best. Here are some examples. Genaro Hernandez - Mayweather dominated him and then went on to beat Carlos Hernandez and Carlos Gerena. Former opponents of Genaro. Diego Corrales - Completely dominated by Mayweather Jr. Corrales was considered the best at 130lbs after knocking out Angel Manfredy, Derrick Gainer and Justin Juuko. 2 of which Mayweather also defeated. Jose Luis Castillo - Was considered the best Lightweight after defeating Steve Johnston. Mayweather didnt fight Johnston but did beat Castillo twice. The first of which was controversial but Floyd set the record straight in the rematch. Winning a close but convincing decision. Carlos Baldomir - Considered the best welterweight after defeating then undisputed welterweight champ Zab Judah. Mayweather defeated both Judah and Baldomir in successive bouts. Shane Mosley - Ranked #1 after knocking out Antonio Margarito. Mayweather fought him at 147 and dominated Mosley, winning a lopsided decision. I used to hear this myth that Floyd doesnt fight the best coming from Pacquiao fans. It's just ridiculous when you think about it. Floyd has fought and beaten the best. It's just because he does it with such ease that people begin to question his opposition. But he's beaten the best over and over again. The same cannot be said for Pacquiao.

Every resume can be dissected and discredited. Both fighters have questionable fights under their belts. Fact is, its impossible to fight every fighter at their prime while they're undefeated.

Morales was completely dominated by Raheem. Losing every round. It was clear that he was past his prime. Maybe not clear to ignorant Pacquiao fans but perfectly clear to everyone else. Pacquiao fought the loser and ducked the winner. Wheras Floyd fights the winners of big fights and sometimes beats the loser aswell.Pacquiao/Morales II had already been signed before Manny fought Velasquez and Morales fought Raheem. They were "tune-ups" before the 2nd Pac/Moales fight. Unfortunately, Morales lost to Raheem because styles makes fights. Morales does not fight well against pure boxers like Raheem. It was also Morales first fight at 135.

Here's another "Let's discredit this fighter because he fought this fighter at this stage" type dumbass thread. Floyd and Manny are both just at another level right now. Unfortunately, both fighters just don't want to fight each other right now. We know you hate Pac. Just because the Pactards (or is it Jinkees now) create dumbass threads doesn't mean you have to. It's not dumb at all. Everything I posted is true. That Floyd tends to fight people when they are at their peak wheras Pacquiao fights them coming off devastatng losses. It's easy to see. But I wanted to highlight my point because alot of people discredit Floyd and say that his resume is weak and he doesnt fight the best etc. Comparing with Pacquiao, you can't say that.

You can bend anything if it suits your purpose. Eric Morales went up in weight to lightweight against Raheem, where he was in uncharted territory. He re-fought on a 1-0 advantage over Pacquiao after this therefore, Pacman was fighting someone who won against him.Barrerra had just won the trilogy against Morales when Pacquiao fought and TKOed him the first time. He was going against a winner, a Barrera at his prime. Oscar Larios was just a tuneup fight for the rematch against Morales. Dela Hoya was considered a sure win against Pacquiao, odds heavily in his favor, a Flyweight vs. a Welterweight, how easily you forget, until you lost with your alibis. Manny Pacman was considered no match for Hatton when Pacuiao was still fighting Diaz and Marquez. And Marquez was certainly not a loser. And before Pac fought Hatton, the latter was coming of two wins. Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito were the fighters Floyd Mayweather avoided and retired in effect. Floyd fought Mosley, who lost to Cotto whereas Pacman demolished Cotto. Compared to Manny Pacquiao, Floyd is actually a nobody, whose only memorable fight was with a Baldomir. Morales was completely dominated by Raheem. Losing every round. It was clear that he was past his prime. Maybe not clear to ignorant Pacquiao fans but perfectly clear to everyone else. They are all very flawed. You say that Floyd avoided Margarito? That's rubbish because Margarito was completely dominated by Mosley, who was dominated by Floyd. Floyd came back and dominated Mosley. He couldnt have fought Margarito anyway because he was banned for loading his gloves. And what you posted about Marquez is irrelevant because most people think that Marquez won both fights. Including Dan Rafael (Who loves Pacquiao), Fillipino boxing analyst Ronnie Nathaniesz and Fillipino boxer Nonito Donaire. The pattern is clear - Floyd fights the winner, Pacquiao fights the loser.

Had Pac simply taken the OST the 1st time Floyd asked the fight would of happened without a hitch but since Team Pac chose to make blood testing into a near death experince for him we have no fight. I'm still not sure why Pac wouldn't be equally happy to know that his opponent, Floyd Mayweather Jr, arguably the best fighter in the world is not using PEDs against him. Here's the question why does Floyd care that his opponent isn't using PEDs but Pac don't? Because Pac is a warrior who doesn't care, he just fights! ...except when he's asking a fighter to cut off a couple pounds just to be sure
