i cant stand hbo 24/7 due to the fact that they try to turn what is an obvious boxing show into something that it isnt, like some hbo drama. just show fukking boxing, boxing highlights, both fighters training. stop with the fraudulent fake sentimental stories.
people who watch it watch it because of boxing. stick with that formula. stop with the feeding the baby, the homeless, the family love crap etc.
stick with boxing.
Come on, they show plenty of boxing- training, running, sparring, talking about strategy, etc and it makes the fighters more accessible and makes it easier to identify and cheer for or hate them. I just wish HBO would use the time to build up some other future stars. Amir Khan, Brandon Rios, Chavez Jr, etc will be integral parts of the 2 camps and if they get even a 2 min feature about them, it would introduce them to a much larger audience, and more importantly- a paying audience since those who watch 24/7 are most likely the ones going to buy cards... so if they get to know Khan, Benavidez, Chavez, etc now, when it's their turn to headline cards, the paying audience will know their name and a little bit of their story.
I feel the same way I do whenever Football or Basketball season starts up. It's like the 24/7 tonight is the opening of Boxing season since not only is Pac-Marg coming up, but we have Williams-Martinez II, Lopez-Marquez, etc and so on... all fight of the year candidates and a ton more great matchups :boxing:
And I think this 24/7 will be the best one yet. LOTS of great material to work with on both sides.
It's going to be entertaining. 24/7's are always entertaining.
The only least entertaining one was De la Hoya/Pacquiao.
The only really bad one (truly terrible) was Calzaghe/Jones, Jr.
There are several things that'll be touched on in the series:
Pacquiao's steroid accusations
Negotiations with Mayweather
Pacquiao's legendary winning streak
Margarito's handwraps
Margarito's fight with Cotto will be touched upon again (probably)
Roach's predictions (usually spot-on)
Margarito's former trainer Javier Capetillo
Margarito's training camp and new strategies being applied for Pacquiao
And a buttload of other stuff I can't come up with at the moment...it's a good 24/7.
I still don't think Margarito deserved a payday, but I can't ignore the fact that on paper these styles guarantee explosive results.
it should be good...seen some footage of pac's camp having a great time, pulling pranks and just having fun
tony's camp should be interesting as long as they include rios...that dudes a real g
Finally, tonight. Do you think it will be good or be boring?
both
good and informative
but boring because there's no real tension or dislike between the two
the worst trash talking will be coming from freddie and he's such a fucking douchebag anymore
you could tell freddie to have a nice day and he'd find a way to talk lame bs to you
