So as many of you know I am working with Margarito's team and yesterday I went up to see him spar 8 rounds with Mookie Pendarvis and Austin Trout
sparring went really well and he is looking pretty sharp
I asked about the myth of the rehydration clause and according to his co-manager it is not in nor was it ever asked that there be a limit as to what Tony can weigh after the official weigh in
also
it appears that this fight will be in 8oz gloves. Texas allows this if both parties agree to it.
cannot pick without bias bro
the only thing I have said and still believe is this
if Freddie and Manny think they are getting a washed up version of Tony they are mistaken
if Manny wins it will be against a ready Tony
if anyone thinks Tony will quit they are nuts
if anyone thinks Tony will freeze they are nuts
I think Tony's chin is fine and if so it will be war on Nov 13th
gonna be a great match... :boxing:
I'm glad for your thread to clarify this issue. Its good to know that they're using 8 oz gloves with no re-hydration clause.
Its also encouraging to see that Margs is at his best.
This way, IF pac wins (can't really say the outcome for any fight for sure), there really will be no excuses.
went today to drop off some items for Rios and Tony and record the training session plus interview Margarito and Garcia for Bscene.
Tony looks strong healthy and happy. I heard the running item from the open workout was that he was "drained" so I asked and from everyone Tony hasn't even started to taper his meal intake yet is on point 100% with his weight
I asked his co-manager, Sergio Diaz, what he sees and he pointed out to me that when he was having the issues with Mosley and one other fight where weight was an issue Tony would slur a bit from having a dry mouth and be sluggish. He said he isn't even close to that and considering he hasn't really tapered his intake he knows he will make 150 with ease
I might get my hands on an entire sparring session as well. I am asking for the Monday session as that was the last 12 round session
lol me and his manager were going to joke about it and say there was one to see what the reaction would have been but I think with the magnitude of this fight it could have sparked something unnecessary
Good on you.
Thanks for the info bro!
Keep em comin.
i think he did in the PAC-Morales 1
No he didn't, he has never worn 10oz gloves.
And, you cant wear 10oz at 140 and lower.
He were 8oz gloves for the first Morales fight just a different brand. I guess he wanted the Cleto Reyes brand but got a different one. But, it was 8oz.....
lol...you might wanna consider a different career rather than trying to be a lawyer, im guessing youd be a prepaid legal consultant at best some day....try automotive, might take you farther!
Wow...
How can you not understand what he's saying? Pacquiao is an offensive machine and Margarito lacks defense, there for 10 oz gloves would allow Margarito to block Pacquiao's punches better/ take them better.
margarito for me has a good chance against pacquiao/ he might not be the best boxer in the world today but his fight with pacman comes at the right time. Pacquiao has nothing to prove now and looks like he is focusing now on his new passion the politics. margarito will probably win this!
im not saying i kno anything. im stating an opinion asswipe. its easier hit a softball coming at u at 75mph than it is to his a baseball coming at u from 100mph. if u dont agree say u dont agree dont explain to me what im saying, i kno what im saying.

LOl...marg is a volume puncher as well like pac and i dont think he dishes the weaker punch than a midget in pac....so you basiclly saying you know better what helps margs than himself since you disagree with the gloves of his preference.....lol

i understand what he likes to do, and i dont doubt he likes it. im saying from a strategical standpoint, a guy like margs is easier enuff to hit. if the gloces are 8oz, hes much easier to hit and he'll take the hits much harder. with 10oz, he has a better chance at blocking and he has more padding and cushion.
i dont have a problem with 8oz at all, but he shoulda took a page outta oscars book when he fought floyd. bring out the pillows!!!

lol....god damn....how does it hurt him more than it helpes him when he prefers to use 8 oz?..........god damn...lol

well that settles this rehydration bull****. thanks for the post earner, i think the fight is better for the fans at 8oz but that def. hurts margs more than it helps him, imo.
