I'm an amateur boxer and i find it funny how, I don't get paid ****, and I'm traveling to far places and doing galas. I'm risking injury, and paying for food to get there, skipping work and training my ass of everyday,500$ a year for gym membership and 100$ for a boxing passport. Yet the gyms organizing it charge 20$ per person are making all that money, yet they are not the ones sweating, getting hurt and bleeding. I'm not complaining about me not getting paid, however I think the galas should be free. I feel like I'm being exploited each time I go for a fight. Like I wouldn't mind if everything was free but I'm paying to go fight. Least I could get is a free boxing passport.
Even in professional boxing the managers make alot of money even though they sit on their ****in ass and do nothing.
i know raushee personally and he gets paid 5000 a month to train and fight internationally and so does super heavyweight mike hunter they both get paid im real good friends with mike and he told me he gets paid 5000 a month also.
Thanks for clearing that up

your an AMATEUR boxer.... your not supposed to be getting paid. Your supposed to being doing it because you WANT to do it.
They only offer amatuer boxing as a sport because kids WANT to do it and its good for them.
The owners of the gym are providing you a huge service. They teach you how to fight and supply you with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equiptment for your use. Hence the payment
What your saying makes absolutely zero sense...
I know I'm not supposed to be gettin paid, but the gyms hostin are makin a profit from a show where I'm the attraction, yet I get nothing. It sounds wrong. Not only that we have to pay a ****load of money, almost 600$ a year to do boxing, it's expensive.. WTF are you talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment you don't know what the **** you're talking about. and besides I have my own equipment.

well the look into another line of work and be exploited there like everyone else working a 40 hour a week job :lol1:
My advice to avoid being exploited open your own buisness :p
What are Those financial rewards?
One thing amateurs in any sport cannot do is recieve sponsorship. Once that happens, they loss thier amatuer status
And you think Warren gets paid enough money as an amatuer to make a living?
I think he gets paid enough to get by yes. What the financial rewards? That I dont know.:(
Let me break this down for you.
USOC-stands for United States Olympic Committee which is an organization that supports our amateur system but selecting and entering boxers in tournaments. (Games of the Olympiad, Olympic Winter Games, and Pan American Games.)
The USOC and the USAB(U.S.A. Boxing) provides financial awards for those who win medals at the tournaments.
Im not saying amateurs are getting crazy money for winning gold medals but they get paid and some under the table.
How do you think Warren going to focus on the 2012 Olympics? Warren is 23 years old. I doubt he works cause he has to devote majority of his time training for the Olympics and now the WSB. I'm pretty sure he is funded well thru the organizations.

He partisipated in World Series of Boxing (WSB), a newly formed league set to launch in November that allows fighters to compete in a modified pro setup and still maintain their Olympic eligibility.
Amateurs arent allowed to get payed but the International Boxing Association set this up to bridge the gap between Amateur and pro
In this league fighters will have no headgear, bouts will consist of five 3-minute rounds and scored according to the 10-point "must" system.
So inturn this is a "pro" concept which allows fighters to participate in the olympics
Again amateurs cannot get paid

uhh YES they do get paid. not from fights but sponsors. Go ask Raushee Warren if he is getting paid.

No. Amateur boxers do not get paid period. Win or lose they do it for free. If or when they decide to turn pro then they get paid. Amateur boxing is non-profiting.Both fighters fight for free

Top amateurs get paid but regular amateurs dont. Like someone said earlier, the Gym owners and trainers have bills to pay. It cost to sanction amateur fights and to rent rings and have medical assistance on standby.

we pay for everything in my little bro's soccer games too.. . . you expect to get payed as an amateur? gtfo of here..
Oh yea he is an amatuer and they dont get paid
There just isnt much money to make unless you make it big in boxing
My friend Andrey Tsurkan fought and beat Hector Camacho Jr. and also fought Yuri Foreman, Augulo and Martirosyan yet he had to keep a second jobs as a personal trainer
Almost all sports are like that in the beginning. Before you get to high school if you want to pay baseball you got to pay to be on a team and you got to come out of pocket for travel. Same thing for basketball. Even then you got to raise money for things like uniform, etc.
Amateur boxing is the same. Unfortunately over here in the US there isn't to many top notch boxing programs no more.
