This only goes to show how overrated and overhyped Hamed is. He was far from unbeatable.
First time he ever fought truly elite fighter, he got schooled, took him year to get back for one fight, then retired, inspite the big words.
Which goes to show he never really had a heart of champion, and his boxing fundamentals were also not on the level.
You dont really know to much about Naseem if you believe that then.
Too early to tell at this point. Juanma has the better skills, but Hamed was pretty quick with knock out power.
Come back in two years and I'll give you a better assesment.
When the prince was in his prime and being trained by the Ingles & managed by Warren, he was unbeatable.

What he head far above level is his power and athleticism, but those things can only take you so far. Maybe he truly belived he was best there is and his team kept him away from likes of Barrera, Marquez, Norwood, Morales...
But, his hype was really tremendous and I don't know if it is possible at all to resist it if you lived in UK.
As for thread...Not easy to call. JuanMa is also way overrated and overhyped, but is bigger guy with better fundamentals. Before anyone mentions his chin, I'm sure his near loss against Mtagwa was due to poor gas tank.
Juama does get hit and Hamed's power was very legit (and Juama's for that matter). Hamed was so fast delivering that one punch KO from odd angles that you have to go with him

When he stopped all that and had his mates doing it which showed in his last two fights, Lopez would have a chance.
Juanma aint nowhere near retiring, Hames is such a clutz he would afall down 5 times per fight, no one had to touch him.
Do you read what other people post before you comment?
when did i say juanma is goign to retire?
I'm done addressing your belief that naseem hamed was a clutz
you're just soiling your reputation now
juanma's certainly the longer and taller fighter than the prince, but that's not what i was referencing when i called the prince the stronger man
hamed was a very sturdy dude and would have finished his career at higher weights had he not retired so young. he had legs like a welterweight, but he was short and had a short reach
more importantly...
at simmilar ages they fought at simmilar weights, with juanma begginning with a reign at 122
juanma's only a few months away from the age at which the prince retired so i've got absolutely no problem comparing them and have no idea why you've got one
juanma is in his prime
he's got eight defenses of his titles
more importantly he's at 27 year old featherweight and the prince was retired not long after that
go ahead and keep "LOLing" at me :chomp:
and on calling the prince clumsy:
go ahead and keep calling the dude who did a frontflip into the ring clumsy
and that clean backflip he did after going hard professional rounds :wtf: ... was a clumsy backflip
deffinately a clutz was the prince
:chairshot

I dont like to compare a guy that is barely two months at 27 years old to an exciting fighter who defended his title 16 times in his career.
But LoL at that one guy who said Hamed is bigger and stronger than Juanma, when Juanma is 5'7 with a 69 reach to Hameds 5'4 1/2 with a 64 reach. Not to mention Juanma predicts he will end up at 135 at the near end of his career, which will probably happen. Juanma is pretty much stronger than Hamed, but Hamed clumsy and dangerous, especially when he literally throws himself with a punch at the opponent.

Hamed would have rendered Lopez unconscious very early in the fight.Lopez is a good boxer, with heavy hands, but he's slow as dog sh^t,incredibly easy to hit and his chin is suspect.
Hamed would have had an absolute field day with someone like Lopez. And for the record,Hamed would have also knocked out the glass jawed, unproven Gamboa too.

Why not? Especially when the other fighter was 28 or around there when he retired?

I need to see how Lopez handles Gamboa style before I make a prediction in this fantasy fight.
Not saying Hamed and Gamboa are alike because they're not. But, I just want to see how Juanma handles explosiveness that Gamboa brings and that Hamed had.
naz was a fighter like floyd type and MAB kept the pressure on him..
that shows also floyd hates pressure fighter..
naz beats lopez
Naz and Mayweather fights nothing alike, Mayweather lives for the pressure fighters while Naz does, Barrera respect Naz sooo much he box on the outside rather than get into engaging with Naz.
Naz came in thinking Barrera was going to go toe to toe like he did against Morales, Big mistake because Barrera show his other side and box Naz's head off instead of brawling....If you brawl with Naz at 126 then you would end up losing.
