Then I saw that fight, now I'm a believer, gone are the doubts,no trace in my mind!!Yeah, heavy Floyd critic here, dudes a coward, won't fight anyone remotely capable of beating him, sounds familiar, yeah that was me!!
Enter round 2 of Floyd-Mosley boom, boom,ha Mosley's gonna sleep this chump, just like I have foreseen!!Negative ghost rider,Floyd has balls & boy did he ever!!In my opinion, there isn't a welterweight current that gets bombed by those 2 flush shots that Floyd ate like a t-bone & just mans up & bosses up on Mosley like that!!I'm not a Floyd fan,but if i never gave him an ounce of respect before,I sure respected him that night!!
Mosley was too nervous in that fight. He was shaking like hell.
Certainly not the same Mosley I've seen in his previous fights.
That's the problem of giving too much respect for your opponent.
Everything you planned and trained for goes down the drain.
Finally someone who thinks like i do.. See i saw the same thing. Compare the mayweather fight to mosley's last 2 fights. Not even the same mosley we are all used to seeing. It almost seemed like after he stunned floyd in the 2nd round. He looked nervous and he didnt wanna let his hands go or even try to engage.
If the heart was to be able to take 2 big shots then Briggs had even more heart to take many shots against a better opponent in front of him than what Floyd had in front of him after that 2nd round. After that 2nd round, Mosley was super gassed and posed no problem for Floyd. So what was the big risk after that 2nd round?
It's not like Floyd said, wow, can I take 12 rounds of non-stop bombs coming my way? That didn't happen as I said, Mosley was fighting with blanks after the 2nd round.
There was plenty of risk for Briggs.
Floyd takes two hard shots and beats a faded Mosley.. and people screamin heart. Dude might have heart, but there are plenty other fighters that have absorbed many more power shots and kept going. Floyd got skill, no doubt. As far as his heart, it's questionable.
Heart is when you get clobbered and continue to fight back against the odds. Big difference with Briggs who was content with walking forward into infinite right hands and hooks than fighting back to prove he's worthy of a title shot
I never bought that "Mosley was gassed against Floyd" line. He went 12 with Mora. It was more a case of Shane being absolutely dumbfounded and befuddled and not having a backup plan when sh*t hit the fan.
The odds were heavily in Floyd's favor for that fight. The odds were heavily against Briggs even staying on his feet passed 6 or 7 rounds. Briggs took a beating but didn't give up. I'm not saying that Briggs performed well. Actually he looked bad.
If Floyd was outmatched like Briggs was, they probably would have thrown in the towel.
Mosley did not look good his last 2 fights. Mosley should have looked better against Mora since he at least had fought Floyd a few months earlier. Meaning he was not as inactive as before the Floyd fight.
Go see the Floyd vs Mosley fight again. Mosley's trainer even said that there was something wrong with Mosley. I believe it was after the 7th round. Mosley can still win fights but he now needs to be matched up with fighters with certain styles.

Don't understand the comparison to Vitaly-Briggs except that there is an astronomical difference in the defense equation.

It still doesn't change the fact that Floyd fought an old Mosley that hadn't fought in a long time.
Floyd got hit with 2 shots in that fight,...... Briggs against Vitali, got hit with more than 2 shots in every round of their fight 12 rounder.

Oh, no, no, Shane is old, he's washed up, its no big deal that Floyd did what he did with an old man. But, if you remember before the fight, Floyd would never sign to fight someone on an elite level like that. lol
Corrales were supposed to murder Floyd
Yes you are right, that's how to give credit. Give credit even if you've chickened out. Easy no-fight, easy credit.
All Floyd Mayweather's road leads to November 9 Trial
I've taken a wait and see attitude about the whole thing like this:
Let's see who Pacquiao calls out after his victory over Margarito.
As far as the Nov. trial, he may or may not get off with a decent court appointed fine.
We'll have to wait and see won't we?
True dat, Kev.

No question about Heart!! He's got it!! But I question his BALLS?? Does he have it?
You're leaving out the part where Mayweather is a former super featherweight, former Lightweight, former junior welterweight, former welterweight and former jr middleweight. Taking those bombs from some one who has been at that weight for longer than him. While Margarito has been a Welterweight for 15 years and is known for taking a punch. You Pac fans gotta give credit where it's due.
True dat, Kev.
Never said he didn't have skill. He's probably the most skilled of this era.. and one of the most skilled of all time. If only he proved it with ELITE competition and tested himself more.
Floyd had already passed championship caliber tests when he dominated the super featherweight and lightweight division for 10 years. He paid his dues at the elite level while in the shadows of superstar Oscar De La Hoya.
Nowadays, whomever is most dominant and has a large following in his current division is whom he will try to make a match worth his time and trouble for the biggest pay day with. It's all about the economics of the business at the moment.
If by "testing himself more" you mean by seeing him fighting more often, then your concern is understandable.
Nah.. Tony ate like 60 of those hammers before going down.:fing02:

If only, that would be nice.
That's true Mayweather didn't dispatch of him easily, but for the exception of about 2 mins, Mosley got Dominated for 34 minutes out of 36 minutes. I've never been in the ring, but I know it takes more skills win 95% of the fight, than going for a hail mary in the first couple of rounds.

Just asking your opinion about it. Why these fights will never seem to happen.
Well,it's like U 1st stated,Floyd, nor Pacman will ever step into the ring with him!!
I'm not sure exactly what ur trying to get at,so just come out with it already!!Last time I checked though there isn't any height classes in the sport of boxing!!

Just wondering, guy. Do you think the height difference is what keeps these fights from happening? The Punisher is willing to go 147 just to get his guaranteed paycheck of a lifetime. You think it's the height, or it doesn't make any difference?
