Easy to See that Cotto beats Marg in Rematch...

The main issue was Cotto did not have a good enough game plan. He had a decent game plan but there were a few elements that were missing. His main problem was that he was not able to control Margo's non-stop pressure. The key for Cotto was to have kept Margo off balance and making it harder for Margo to hit him. Yes, Cotto could have improved on his stamina. This way, he could have continued to hit Margo then use his legs to move away from Margo BUT that is a lot harder said than done. Especially for someone named Cotto. Yes, Cotto could have hit Margo with bombs, to slow him down, like Mosley did BUT Cotto does not have that type of offense. Some say it didn't stop Margo pressuring Mosley but it did help. From the KO, you can tell it did affect Margo. BUT The best and easiest thing that Mosley did that Cotto hardly did was clinch when he was in a vulnerable position. Look, at his age, Mosley was NOT in better shape than Cotto. He didn't need to be because he was able to keep Margo off balance. Cotto had no head movement, no fakes, no clinching. If Cotto added that to his game plan, he would have frustrated margo enough and win by UD.

It all depends on Cotto, he tends to be content on solely staying on his feet when the going gets tough. Even when Mosley landed those bombs against Margarito, and Margarito continued to smile, you saw that Mosley wasn't bothered by that at all. Cotto however...was mind raped. He needs to have the right mentality against Margarito; look at him as 'just a human being.

maybe but a lot of us doubt it. Marg's pressure is still hell for Cotto in terms of stylistic components. Cotto had a **** game plan in the first fight so maybe a rematch wouldnt be as brutal with steward in his corner but it would be a feat if cotto can pull it of. cotto cant fight backing up, pacquiao would beat him at any weight. Period. cotto can fight backing up. the problem is how he goes about it with some fighters. with marg his biggest problem was always backing up. he let marg get rolling. he should have clinched more. marg gets into a groove moving forward all the time.

I've seen almost all of Cotto's fights, and I've always seen that flaw in him. He seems to loose confidence and tends to leave himself open when pressured. Maybe it is the way he was taught cause I have seen his brother do the same thing. All I hope for is that he comes back good and gives us at least a rematch with Marg. everyone losses confidence when things are not going your way. just how it is. it's like that in every sport. i don't consider cotto mentally weak though. if anything he's physically weak (not that great a chin , stamina issues) and that may make it seem like he's mentally weak. when you get buzzed by a punch or get tired it makes you more wary and reluctant to engage.

nah..... cotto ain't mentally weak. he just got worn down in the marg fight. the pac fight he might have been taken out of it mentally but that's understandable. pac is just too damn fast. a lot of people get taken out mentally when the opponent is so much faster.
