Why is Nonito Donaire rated so highly by The Ring?

He don't belong there, there's a lot of option before ranking Donaire so high, he beat Darchinyan a hundred years ago and even Darchinyan fought better competition after the fight. The Ring rated him so high based on his talent which hasn't being tested after the Vic win.

I believe he is rated so high because of something he did a long time ago which was to beat Darchinyan. That is it. This is what is referred to as a getting big break. A lot of fighters enjoy such perks. Floyd and DLH enjoy the same as well. Despite the fact they haven't really done much in ages and fight once a year when they are active. There is a lot of favoritism that goes around that is just the truth. Meanwhile the fighters that are TRUELY tested are fighting 4 times a year with threat after threat and they are no where to be found on either a p4p list or a top 25 all time great list.

IMO, because Donaire is the best Pilipino boxer we have seen in years. He rates higher than Salud in my book and finally is getting the recognition He deserves. I think He will beat the winner of the tour.

Chinny earned his way back tho with thosefights..Donaire really has not fought anybody since..Not saying he's not a good fighter or that he won't earn his spot,but for now he really does not belong on this list.. i think they're just giving him too much props for something big they expect him to do in the future and that's because they believe that he has the capability to do it. i believe most boxing fans will agree that he has the skills to become great although there are few posters here who are saying he's a joke which of course is idiotic.

It's been established that "P4P" lists aren't definitive anyways. It's merely an outlet for people to end up arguing who they believe the better fighter is, and most of the time everyone is dead wrong. I mean lol there are people who put Heavyweights on a P4P list even though they're the supreme weight. So what does that say? Good post bro..

Because he's a very highly skilled guy, The only thing is he hasnt fought enough good fighters at his or around his weight. I really like this guys boxing IQ just which Top rank can do something with this guy to make him a big star that he deserve to be.

While I wouldn't place Vitali within sniffing distance of the P4P list, Wlad could be as high as #3. Donaire is nowhere to be found on my list.

The ring loathes to move people down without them actually losing, Nonito is not the only person that has benefitted from that policy though (Hopkins, Winky, Mosley all come to mind)

p4p rankings become more subjective and less objective the further you move away from #1. most lists would consistently have similar top 3 spots. after that it's chaos.
