Scrap Green vs. Johnson and just give Ward the winner of Froch vs. Abraham.
Froch/Abraham already has a date and a venue, just get on with it, the winner will have won two fights, Ward's won two fights, so just move straight to the finale. It'll be over in 4-6 months.
If Showtime is contractually obligated to both Green and Johnson, let them fight a non-Super Six fight at the 175 lb limit since that's where both of them need to be fighting anyway.
It's retarded to try to find another opponent for Ward when Glen Johnson was the best they could do two weeks ago to replace Kessler.
It won't happen even if that is the most logical solution. Showtime makes more money by putting on more fights by putting the Super Six name label them.
They would lose a bit of money if they just let the tournament end like this.
Man I told everyone that when I went to the Dirrell-Abraham media workouts that Dirrell's cousin and my college roomie said that the Ward fight would not happen.
Gotta be skeptical about Dirrell's injury but at the same time you wonder how he benefits from this.
Showtime obviously has him under some kind of contract and they're certainly not just gonna let him walk if he backs out altogether and ruins this tourney.
If he doesn't fight Ward chances are he won't be fighting anyone at all for awhile, so I don't get it.
If your info from your buddy is legit and correct then Dirrell and Ward should be condemned. Seriously.
They knew they'd have to fight the moment they accepted to enter the supersix.
:puke:
Doesn't sound that bad of an idea. Then we'll have a nice unification to end the tournament.
Having another replacement will water down the tournament.
Then again the Dirrell injury could be legit and perhaps the Ward-Dirrell fight can be rescheduled to January/February with Ward fighting a tune-up in November.

I think that would be the best thing to do also.
It's simple in that it gets rid of all the alternates and focuses on the three original guys remaining in the tournament. Plus now Froch/Abraham is for the WBC title, so Showtime could give Ward a stay-busy fight if they wanted and just agree to air the WBA/WBC unification early in 2011.
