Man did I get pumped pre fight, I give Floyd credit for the win despite the size difference but it really would be been a GREAT win on his resume if they were at the same weight.
I still get pumped seeing pics pre fight, two excellent counter punchers going at it, the best of the sweet science!

Mayweather's advantages over Marquez would have been greater when he was at 130. Marquez would have had more speed but like i said so would Mayweather and he'd still be faster, and I can say that because the fight took place and played out the way it did at 147 when Mayweather was slower in hand as well as foot speed. I guess what i'm saying is the difference would be small and the outcome would be the same, Mayweather would have been faster and the better all around boxer on fight night regardless of weight.
Don't see why i can't state my opinion based on performance and skill simply cause you don't agree with it or just rather not give credit where it's due, but then again that's no surprise.
like I said, I ain't saying floyd wouldn't win at 130 lbs, but the fight at 147 doesn't have any implications for a fight at 130 lbs. JMM was fat, flabby, woefully undersized and lacking in power and speed at 147. you can't just write off jmm at 130 lbs against floyd.
floyd always wins fantasy fights, but that's why fights are won in the ring and not in fantasy land.
none of the bigger opponents are nearly as good as jmm.
it's not about floyd's size and strength, but marquez's lack of size and strength at 147 lbs.
never said he wouldn't or wasn't, but the fight was at 147 not 130 so you can't really say that can you?

I know most of you guys are newer fans, but I hope you realize that Morales and Mab wouldn't even mention Marquez's name when he was coming up. It was like all of boxing wouldn't even talk about him because everyone knew he might mess up the trilogy and become the best man standing.
I was surprised when Pac fought him the first time TBH.
Floyd vs Marquez was a disgrace.
wouldn't have mattered.....in a battle of counterpunchers the faster guy usually takes it........
if jmm was an actual WW he would've taken more chances and the hole dynamic of the fight would've changed. I ain't saying floyd would'a lost, just that it would've been a lot more competitive.

really??most of floyds opponents were bigger than him....hes been moving up his entire career

Sure, maybe he doesn't, but he wanted it and if Mayweather had used his strength and size to plow past Marquez i'd agree with you, but he didn't.
it's not about floyd's size and strength, but marquez's lack of size and strength at 147 lbs.
He outboxed him and at 130 he would have done the same or worse.
c'mon man, Mayweather was a beast at the lower weightclasses.

c'mon man, marquez has no business at 147 lbs.

He wasn't outmuscled, he was outboxed. Mayweather used the ring and the jab to keep Marquez from being able to set up his counterpunches, which tend to be most effective in exchanges, which Mayweather didn't allow. Maybe the speed was a factor, but you have to remember that Mayweather was much quicker, in both foot and handspeed at 130 as well.

if they were the same size floyd wouldn't have fought him
Marquez was slower at the weight, his punches carried no power and was easily outmuscled by Floyd.
Marquez vs Mayweather at 130 would have been great.

Epic? Doubt it...more competitive? I think so...but Floyd beats Marquez at any weight...
Marquez is a counterpuncher...Floyd would have a feast...and Marquez isn't a defensive wizard either...
Considering the way Diaz was able to keep Marquez at a distance with the jab just to survive 12 rounds, i think Mayweather would have still outboxed Marquez with the jab at any weight.
MAybe his weight had to do with his lay off... anyway FLoyd Mayweather would win even if it was JMM's natural weight, he made the great JMM look like a boxing amateur.. it wasn't as if Mayweather used his size to try and walk him down.
at lightweight floyds arms were still the same length
And how old was Floyd when he fought at LW? And how old was Marquez when he fought at LW after 50 something pro bouts. Yeah no matter how you spin it Floyd and Juan were never the same size and when you are a naturally bigger and stronger man you can easily take you skills with you as you move up.
Again not saying Marquez would win because I think Floyd wins even if they were the same size. But they arn't the same size so in otherwords please stop trying to polish a turd.
I enjoyed Mayweather-Marquez more then Mayweather-Mosley to be honest.
Because Mayweather didn't take Marquez ambition. Even though Marquez went in with the intent of winning, when things wasn't going his way his ambition was to the best he could.
When Mosley acknowledged he could win, its like he lost purpose. Truth say his pride must have hurt.
JMM woulda hit the canvas more than once if this was at lower weights. Floyd would have been more aggressive. Floyd's reach, timing and reflexes mean that I can't see Marquez winning ever at any weight.
The fight would have been even better though at a lower weight, but I enjoyed it because it was a masterful display of skill as opposed to size
Another guy who thinks jumping up two weight classes wont effect a fighters speed. Not saying Marquez would win but at the same time overexagerrating Floyds performance in a freak show fight is a bit much.
