This kid still gets killed for the Maidana fight.
People said Campbell would beat him. He waxed him.
Some gave Harris a chance. He waxed him.
He wants Bradley, Alexander, Maidana and Khan.
He gets major props from me for fighting Kotelnik.
He's on his way back, but we still haven't seen him handle the kind of pressure Maidana put on him. I still consider him to be one of the best prospects in the sport, but like Khan he needs to prove he can get past tough opposition that can take advantage of their weaknesses to see where they're at.
Technically Alexander hasn't done anything to prove it either. He's done about the same as Ortiz
He beat Urango and Witter, that's far more than anything Ortiz has ever done.
Defo needs the maidana rematch, I think it would be good for ortiz if Maidana beat Khan then they could face off for world title, ortiz could avenge his loss and win title in same fight
He gets a lot of credit for fighting Kotelnik but anyone who thought Campbell or Harris had any shot or think those fights proved ANYTHING about Ortiz are crazy. I don't like how Ortiz is still treated like he is an equal to Bradley, Alexander, and Khan when he hasn't done anything to prove it.

its hard to root for quitters like dirrel, campbell, cintron ,witter and ortiz!
Don't really want to start something with u, but it's kinda hard to call Dirrell a quitter when that hasn't been proven.
Anyway, Ortiz has been rooted for a lot more than I expected considering what he did. I was still a fan, but I wasn't at all surprised to see people jump off. But shocking, considering all he did was beat Harris, Campbell, etc. It took Duran a while to get his fans back.
I think he is a good fighter, I genuinely like him...but what I dont get is that the same people who dont think he is a quitter, choose not to dislike him for his quitting,or plain old ignore it - are the same ones who think fighters like Cotto lose credibility because of their so called "quitting". If you are going to hate on one fighter for "quitting", under even more dire conditions and bigger cuts, then you have to hate on the other for "quitting" too. Its not, let me say he is a quitter because he's Puerto Rican and at the same time respect and like an even bigger "quitter" because he is Mexican. If you quit you quit, thats it. I dont fight so I cant personally say that I like any fighter less if they quit, because I dont know what pain they are feeling - but it is more entertaining to see a fighter go out on his feet instead of calling a fight off, I get pissed when some of my fav fighters do it too, but I cant blame them either.
Yes Roberto Duran was garbage wasn't he.......:alcoholic:alcoholic:alcoholic
did'nt sat that at all...plus he won the first fight already......he clearly was'nt at his best due to heavy drinking and eating......
He needs to rematch Maidana ASAP........
I agree..
As long as Ortiz fights HIS fight the entire night and not let Maidana lure him in to toe to toe battle..Ortiz can have a much better night..if he's patient enough I could see Ortiz stopping Maidana in the mid to late rounds
I like Ortiz..he's got a great personality and a very exciting style..he'll always be remembered for the Maidana bout..and it's not so much him quitting..it's his post-fight interview that ruined his image..
I just hope he doesn't buckle in the face of adversity everytime things don't go his way in the ring..

then he aint as great as you think he is then.....lol.....well, it was a competitive fight and was a very winnable fight for ortiz yet he quit....lol

One of the greatest to ever lace them up was also a "quitter"
unless he has given up on boxing altogether he hasn't quit anything!!!
He's going to smoke Maidana if they rematch.

Harris and Campbell :lol1:
Yeah
Those werent calculated opponents to get Ortiz confidence up or anything..
Well see how he does when he gets in the ring vs a young opponent who isnt coming off KO losses or pretty much shop worn.
Not that I give a crap that Ortiz quit rather than being KOd, doesnt bother me I only care about entertaining fights and good match ups.
