manny sign on contract with two promoter? why?I don't know why you don't know that he did. You must have heard of Pacquiao and learned that there is such a sport as boxing only very, very, very recently.
Edit/Note: The manner by which Arum allegedly mishandled the financial sharing is now the meat of a legal action taken by Golden Boy against Top Rank. The specific dates of Pacquiao signing with either of the two parties can be verified through papers in the case filing.
manny sign on contract with two promoter? why?
i dont know why arum say this. he was mannys promoter.I'm sorry Gino but at the time Arum said that, he wasn't Pacquiao's promoter. Although Arum promoted many of Pacquiao's fights at the time, Pacquiao was, for all intents and purposes, an "independent" fighter during that period. The fights against Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez were promoted by Arum but not because Pacquiao was under contract to Top Rank but because Top Rank was the promoter of Morales and Marquez (under an arrangement with Romanza Promotions) at the time.
Pacquiao's then newly-fangled MP Promotions promoted Pacquiao-Larios also at around that time. Not Top Rank.
Dan Rafael of ESPN broke the story that Pacquiao has signed with Golden Boy around middle to late September of 2006, or, about five months after the Mayweather-Judah fight.
Everyone knows, of course, that Pacquiao later also signed with Arum thereby provoking that controversy which led to a mediated resolution where both Top Rank and Golden Boy get shares of specified areas of revenues from Pacquiao fights. So, Arum became Pacquiao's promoter (in partnership with Golden Boy) around October of 2006, or close to 6 months after Bob Arum made the declaration about Mayweather, Jr. as shown in the TS video.
Edit/Note: The manner by which Arum allegedly mishandled the financial sharing is now the meat of a legal action taken by Golden Boy against Top Rank. The specific dates of Pacquiao signing with either of the two parties can be verified through papers in the case filing.

mabuhay manny! mabuhay idol!
Most promoters are hypocrits, if they've got a talented fighter to make money off he would say loads of good stuff to keep in his good books and also make more money off him, then once they leave they are over critical and bitter, take Frank Warren for example.
That statement was made around the first week of April 2006, at the press conference for the Mayweather-Judah fight. (Note the names of the fighters emblazoned on the dais in front of Arum).
In January of that year Pacquiao had just avenged his loss to Erik Morales and was on the way to defeating Oscar Larios in July and, again, Morales in November.
At the time that the statement was made, therefore, Pacquiao only had a win over Marco Barrera, a draw against Juan Manuel Marquez, a loss and then a win against Morales in addition to what may be considered minor victories over the likes of Fahsan and Hector Velasquez.
In late 2008 and early 2009, after Pacquiao beat Hatton and De La Hoya in succession and in a fashion that looked better than the manner that Floyd defeated the two, Arum changed his mind.
EDIT:Here's a link to youtube where Arum put himself on record about this change (at the press conference following the Pacquiao-Cotto fight in November 2009):

Parenthetically: Mayweather's four fights immediately preceding the Judah meeting were wins over the likes of Shamba Mitchell (Nov. 2005), Gatti (June 2005), Henry Bruseles (January 2005) and DeMarcus Corley (May 2004). I'm not sure that this quality of opposition is superior to the likes of Barrera, Morales (twice up to that point in time) and Marquez.
Flomos are so fukking blind. they dont want to listen to these. they are the biggest retards ever.
dunno man, arum seems convinced in the video man.:drillserg
