My point is that Pacquiao could have fought a better version of DLH @ catchweight 150 instead of 147. The DLH that fought Forbes isn't exactly the best DLH, but definitely better than the one that Pac fought @ 147 (or 145 for DLH, lmao).
I don't think we can even take the 154 DLH (versus Floyd) to match up against Pacquiao back then because Pac was barely entering the 147 division.
I just dislike how the DLH that Pac fought was so zombied out due to the weight drain.
As for the poll, I still think Pac stops that DLH, but in the final 2 rounds, with DLH winning maybe 1-2 rounds at most.
training/preparation is part of the game. nobody forced dlh to fight at the ww limit or go in that light. i think the weight issue has been blown way out of proportions here.
full credit to pacquiao for this win.
Basicaly the same outcome. Oscar looked terrible in the Forbes fight. He got his cheek bone pretty mashed up and got hit with alot of silly shots.
But Forbes just wasn't big enough, strong enough, and never had the power in his punchers to capatalize on it.
The writing signs were on the wall then, that Oscar shound't be below 154lb.
Who wins this one?
Same result, though Oscar might have made it to the 12th. If you look at the Forbes fight he was drained there aswell. He bruised very easily. His head looked a grape after the fight. This is a guy whose face doesn't show punishment against the likes of Tito, Vargas and Shane. When you are bruising that easily against Forbes it's a sure sign the weight was a problem.
His eyes looked sunken and he looked dried out.
So Manny without a doubt.

if you change it to the oscar that fought floyd vs pacquiao i bet a lot of people think oscar would win even though he was complete shi-t in that fight as well. at this point in his career his boxing ability had completely deteriorated and he was basically a flailer who couldn't set anything up.
The most competitive version would be a few years into his career, when he still had that x factor, that extra bit of speed and stamina to keep on pushing his punches through in tough times. Even then I feel Pac would take the decision
Same verdict, although I think DLH would have been a little more combative. He was slow and lacked pop in the Forbes fight too. He also got hit way too much and his face puffed up too. He was clearly past it and his body could no longer operate at the level it was use to. Same result, different round.
