It's all there to be seen what this man has achieved in his career, his legacy will be embedded in stone after Margarito is beaten in spectacular fashion. Manny has done it all, and I for one will applaud him after he beats Margarito. The mans legacy speaks for itself, and Margarito will be the icing on the cake. Manny can't possibly be discredited in his career, he's fought every fighter, and has went on some journey. I never fought he'd go as far as he has done in his carrer, he's come along way, accomplished just about everything he can. I have a feeling Margarito maybe his last fight so i'm going to try and enjoy it as much as I can. If Mayweather vs Pacquaio doesn't happen, then you can bet Manny will probably retire..
From Cotto to Clottey.
November, December, January, February, March.
5 months for Pac to fight 2 guys Floyd refused to fight.
Pac signed the Clottey fight less than 2 months after fighting Cotto and he began to negotiate with Mayweather camp with even less time than that.
Floyd needs at least 3 months before even thinking about Boxing.
The man is such a diva. He needs to stick to fighting women.
First of all Floyd doesnt do busness with Top Rank so whats shocking about him not fighting Cotto, Clottey, or Margarito? I would've loved to see FLoyd fight Cotto and beat the **** out of him but he doesnt do business with Arum and that is so clear RAY CHARLES CAN SEE IT. But to say Pac fought clottey as tho that means something is pointless. Its easy to fight cotto and clottey back to back, those arent real threats. Cotto is damaged goods and clottey hasnt beat anyone worth mentioning, he fought a close fight with a damaged fighter.
Floyd could fight cotto, clottey, margarito in one night...they SUCK!
Keep in mind he was campaigning like crazy for his corrupt congressional seat from the middle of March till the middle of May. So middle of May to middle of July = 2 months.
Also remember that when Pac/Clottey was made Mosley/Berto was still on.
We talking bout boxing right??? What does that have to do with campaigning?? Thats still 5 months away from the sport correct? Then he signed to fight Margarito in Nov. So from March 2010 to Nov 2010 is 9 monts so give me a break. Pac been on a loooooooooooooonggggg ass vacation! And Margarito will be a sparring session for a fake title so whats really going on?
So in other words we should all wish Manny well in his future endevours as a congressman being this Margarito fight should be Manny's farewell fight and the Plaster on the cake of Manny's career. Got it.
I'm glad Floyd is going to jail for life and 41 days besides hiding in his Big baby Mansion. At least he was forced to retire and didn't stick around like Manny who will have to possibly defend his titles and face Martinez, P Will, Bradley, Alexander, Berto, Angulo and even older man Mosely.
If the fight with Floyd doesn't materialize and he doesn't retire he may fight one of them sooner or later as there are no logical choice. Lets say some miracles happen he beat either Williams or Martinez at 160 someone will still say he should fight Hopskin or the others otherwise he's ducking them. Not too much for a man who started at 106 with standing height of just 5'6''. huh?
gotta love the objectivity on this boards. well, regardless of whether its fully deserved or not (i dont think he deserves 100% of the credit or sensationalism he gets for his last few fights) manny will go down as having a legendary career. that much is obvious. other than that, margarito does nothing to enhance his legacy.
Thats why we called it icing on the cake. His legendary career already set in the stone either with or without the Margarito fight win or lose.

are you kidding? Manny is the brand. he can fight just about anyone and we will watch. you really think a catch weight with Margo Cheato, with a belt on the line, means anything exzcept that Arum can make things like that magically happen for Manny? what happened to being the peoples champ, and fighting the fights the fans want to see. He had that chance and all we heard was excuses why he couldnt take a damn blood test. we already know mayweather is an ass, but now this guy has jsut as many demands. back to the point of Berto and Bradley, it would be a step in a more positive light of not fighting in house fighters and guys that have been beaten already. period. and we would still tune in. you can bet on that.
Wake up man Pac will accept Floyd invented OSTdemand but only in his term (24 days cut-off and right after the fight) not on Floyd's 14 days cut off, so then the fight fell apart. Second round negotiation Pac accepted full OST up to the fight but he rather went to vacation and beat up his baby mama in front of his child. Go figure it out. It will not take a rocket scientist to figure this out he really scared losing his zero to Pac.
And the Margarito fight, don't tell me this fight is way more better if they do it at 147, right? If Pac win this fight at 151 having another belt is much much better than Oscar having his 6th belt where he clearly lose in that fight. Right?
You want the truth? Being undefeated is overrated to highest extent, the same those has some loses being underratted and counted out. Pac has some loses too but why nobody counting him out? You see....Boxers at 140 who currently undefeated are Bradly, Alexander, Olusegun, McCloskey, Kemagai, at 147 Berto, Brook, Senchenko, Aydin, Jones and many more. Honestly apart from Bradley or Berto but still he will beat them both, the rest Pac will just destroy them all. So what is the point of beating them when everybody knows he will beat them badly beside there is no money on them?

in retrospect, i agree. as of late i kind of put his 130 days behind him and im looking at him as a full fledged welter who can also still challenge guys @ 140. i think coming up in weight is what made Manny a complete fighter. i think he's healthier and has better stamina, only adding to his already deadly offense. if he stayed between 130 and 140 i believe we would have seen more close wars and possibly seen him beat by now. it's amazing what he has done (i personally think the Cotto fight is what turned me around) but i still cannot get the fact out of my head that he hasn't fought anyone who has already been previously beaten or knocked out. not taking anything away from him but it's the truth.

When he was at 130, I never thought that he could go to 140 and above. I never gave him a chance against Dela Hoya, Cotto, or Clottey. Hatton was the only guy I kinda gave him a chance to beat and I even had Hatton going in as a slight favor. Manny has done the impossible in my eyes.

I kinda disagree.
Outside of the close fights with Marquez and his first fight with Morales we haven't even seen Pacquiao in the ring with a true elite fighter. For the most part his jump up in weight classes have been against average to below average in-house champions that were pretty much set up for him one way or the other.
At this stage of his career you would have hoped to see him in with at least Bradley if not Berto. Or with Mosley back when Shane was still relevant.
Imo Manny has had it pretty easy regarding moving up in weight classes. I don't think there's been a fighter that has moved up from lightweight in the past 20 years that has had it easier than Pacquiao.
Stop with the madness and this vacation talk. After Manny turned down A show down with Mayweather and fought clottey in March, it wasnt until july when they wanted to negotiate a fight with floyd. From march to july is 5 months of vacation. Floyd had just fought in May so that was 3 months later. Its okay for manny to take a vacation and then talk about fighting but the moment floyd says "hey i just fought, the number 1 guy, i'm not thinking about you poochie" everyone gets mad. Lmao thats so funny. IF pac really wanted to fight it would've happened in March straight up. And if he was really trying to fight the best he would've fought mosley or berto instead of clottey and Paul williams or Martinez at 154 instead of Margarito. He's beating all top rank fighters and that shi* aint LEGIT!

As a matter of fact, he could retire after beating those 3 Mexicans HOF warriors (Barrera, Morales and JMM) and will be considered as ATG/Greatest fighter of ASIA. By the time he was at 130 nobody thought he can beat any fighter above 130 considering he started from 106. Beating Diaz at 135 would be icing on the cake but he went for more! Beating Hatton in his best weight amd made Oscar quit after moving up virtually 3 divisions above at the same time doing at the fashion much better than Mayweather wins to them. He could retire again after that without fighting Floyd and will be considered higher than him in ATG rankings. BUT HE DID NOT, he made Floyd doubt himselff, asked for he did not ask to his 40 opponents (OST), when Pac called his bluff he quickly went to vacation! The best thing is Pac fought those fighters he avoided while he rather retired than fighting them. so yes! Pac can retire now after the Marg fight and enjoy the fruits of his very hard labor from the beginning all the way to the top where he is now. His story is truly amazing and inspirational. Boxing History will be kind to him as nobody may able to break his records and accomplishments in boxing many decades or centuries to come! Hate us his fans flomos but not Pac. He is a good nice guy and did nothing wrong to Floyd or all of you guys.
He's proven alot, there is no denying that. However, I'm sure many avid boxing fans would like to see him just once, in the ring with a slick boxer at the weight limit.
Just sayin...lol
yeah with a weight limit and 2 lbs over ol lol hahahha

Just sayin...lolI'd like to see him against Martinez at full 154 to prove if he is truly legendary. No excuses, no bullshet. And if he beats Martinez, which there is a 1% chance, then wow......the guy can truly be called top 20 of all time!
There wouldn't be that because people will always remember Floyd as be on Vacation when Manny agreed to Floyd BS OSDT demand.
