the most number of users online on boxingscene was 5,738 on 3/14/2009, the same day amir fought barrera?
that's about 4x the number of users we have on right now.
i don't even recall, at least recently when i checked, for this number to go much beyond 3k.
does this actually mean something or was it just coincidence that both the user record and their fight happened on the same day?
any thoughts?
idk but I checked it out and that time there were a lot of fights going on in plenty of different countires, but not really signifant fight beside Khan-MAB and, Abraham-Simon
maybe the week after were Roy Jones and Vitali fightin...
also a lot fights from the Phillipines...
The forum Crashes after lots of log on...thats been happenin lately
maybe that explains it.
the actual number for bigger fights aren't recorded because the site couldn't handle the traffic.
It was just a coincidence Khan is not really even well known now anywhere but England forget about back then.
it's just odd that we set a user record the day of that fight.
got me curious.
Ya i remember i posted it in the lounge...i thought it wouldve been broken for either Clottey vs Pacquiao/Mayweather vs Mosley but the site crashed when everyone came on
thats crazy, was there an american fight on that night, HBO/SHOWTIME? because with the time delay from the UK people were probaly on for that AND the HBO/SHOWTIME card
Plus the Khan-Barrera fight was hyped up to make it seem like he was fighting a prime barerra so it prabally gained alot of attention here
nah.
that's the only significant fight.
