Was Margaritos Gloves really loaded against Cotto? This is my question.. This still hasnt been proven and one things for sure is that people jump on accusations like flies on turds ex: Floyds accusations of Pac on PED's. Im not saying that Margarito did or didnt no one really knows expect him and his trainer but looking back at Cotto in that fight. He was pretty busted up just like Pac busted him up so really was Margs gloves loaded, cause Pac busted him up the same way? Lets not forget the game plan Cotto had in that fight, lack of body shots which is his signature punch.. Cotto went for Margaritos head more.. So really, was Cotto just suspect to pressure fighters? There's no evidence to say he was and plus cottos corner ****ed up because they claim no one watched him get his hands wrapped so that's there fault and yes he was a victim to pressure fighters like he was to pacquiao and clottey he still won the fight. Miguel i's a warrior I just think clottey lost the fight due to the knock down. But I hope Miguel and margarito slug it out agai

Cheating Weasel shouldn't even be licensed if you ask me. Disgusting how he's walked back into a massive fight with virtually no sanctions whatsoever. As for the Cotto fight , do you think he saw SSM as a tougher opponent than COtto? I think not so if he tried that **** vs SSM why would he have not been trying it against Cotto?

I remember a thread a long time ago where people were discussing a close-up of Margarito's wraps (from after the Cotto fight) which HBO showed on a later fight card after all the controversy had blown up. I didn't see it, but apparently the close-up showed the wraps looking suspect. I'll try and find the thread. Or if someone has that video clip, then it would be good if they could post it.

Anytime anyone brings up the fact that a commissioned official was in the room in garbage. There was one in the room for the Mosley fight, and he gave the wraps a pass. It wasn't until Nazim came in and realized it was wrong, then had to demand the official in the room to get his boss because the guy didn't feel anything was wrong. No one from Cotto's camp even came into Marg's room while his hands were being wrapped, if he got it by California he could just as easily gotten it by Nevada officials. Also, Marg's wraps just look hard in all the pictures, I've always thought you were supposed to have padding on your hands, not something that looks like a solid block, as his did. All this doesn't mean anything though because he still might not have used. However once I saw the picture of the wraps and Marg's hand raised after the Cotto fight with the red blotch on both pictures I was convinced. No boxer uses the same wraps, EVER. However, apparently Marg was using his bricks in sparring by his and his trainers admission, why would he use them there? Then he busted a sparring partners orbital bone WITH headgear... then the killing blow is when Marg was interviewed in Calfornia and he stated "I didn't feel anything different from the way my hands were wrapped in the Mosley fight, than any fight I had prior." That means Marg doesn't even know if he was clean for the Cotto fight though he says he always has been, even though his wraps have always felt the same. Either Marg is lying or he's been cheating his entire career. As far as the beating and swelling Cotto received, I'll just say that Mosley landed about 15 less punches than Marg and Cotto's face after the fight looked fine, except for some swelling. Marg threw about a 1/3rd of his punches to Cotto's body as well but Cotto's face was an absolute mess from taking less head shots, more body and from a softer puncher than Cotto. Just doesn't make sense that he would look like given his past fights and how his body reacted. Also, someone mentioned that first punch Cotto took, and I know exactly what he means, in every other fight even now Cotto will throw back, but the first time he felt Marg it was right to the ropes. Add in the fact that Margs had almost the same exact record as Resto, Cotto was undefeated like Collins. Cotto was expected to win the fight, but it would be tough as was the expectation in the Collins fight. The difference is this one was on PPV and was really Margs last shot as a fighter, he had 5 or 6 losses and with a loss his career was basically over without this win and he would be stuck as a journeyman for life. Add in the fact that Cotto was a 3 to 1 favorite and just like the Resto case you put big money on the underdog then add some insurance such as plaster of paris and you just tripled up on your money. Of course he used, if you don't think so you must think OJ is guilty too. cant be arsed readin all of that! i dont need a lecture on what happened or who was expected to win. roman martinez was expected to beat ricky burns 2/9 on. i think it is important if there were officials in the room. CSAC and NSAC are 2 different commisions, hence have different rules. the csac have been proven to be incompetent. did cotto and margarito have NSAC written on their tape? if so then it is likely they were inspected by the nsac which makes it more unlikely.

Even if there were, the CSAC did not see it, Richardson did when cheato fought Mosley. I doubt the NSAC is any more competent than the CSAC so that does not hold much water. i dunno, i always thought the nsac was much more competent than the csac and ledderman said something about the csac being incompetent in the mosley fight.

Some of the damage done by the plasters will be permanent. The scar tissue beneath the skin on his face is there and his face will swell everytime He gets hit hard in the face. We can thank the cheater for that gift.

Yes, the proof is that Margarito has not shown that kind of power in any fight after. I don't doubt He also plastered when He fought Cintron before Cotto. You can't fake punching power and Cotto's face was taken appart by loaded gloves. No doubt in my mind. But as the TS points out and I agree, Cotto's face looked the same after Pac also...:thinking:

did margarito used ilegal wraps with cotto. even a blind man could see that he used them, why, the kind of cuts in his face, the way he was swollen, are marks of a hard subtance. that later was discover in mosley fight. before and after cotto's fight margarito power was very weak. that fight in mexico was a clear picture that margarito do no have that kind of power at all. he want that fight wint cotto because that was his springboard to jump to a championship, he got it but ilegally. we saw the kind of beating that mosley gave him, and margarito did not have any power. when pacquiao beat cotto was a diferent scenario the punches cotto received was natural punches but the marks. on cotto's face were gone very fast and normally. yes it was very obvious that margarito used something ilegal, the police later report that was plaster of paris, the one you got home on your wall.

You're in denial my friend I disagree! You cannot conclude he had loaded gloves based on the beating Cotto took. Look at the way Margarito was fighting! Cotto could not hurt him, he ate ALL of his punches with ease. Margarito looked strong that fight, his punches were waaaaay not as sloppy as the fights after. Like mentioned before he was landing hard upper cuts, that's no joke. Who knows? Maybe he didn't train properly for the Mosley fight, and resorted to something bad. But simply concluding that he always cheated is just ignorant. btw. he took off the gloves after the Cotto win it's constantly in the camera and around people in the ring.
