It's a fair assumption that Cotto would box Maidana's head off, but if they stood in front of each other and traded bombs that would be something to watch...so who would be the last man standing?
Interesting matchup.
Maidana seems to have legit power, but he's been tested kind of softly thus far, IMO.
Cotto was chinny at 140, also.
I'd pick Miguel to win by late TKO, in a fight filled with knockdowns, and a lot of ebb and flow.
Yeah there'd definitely be a couple of knockdowns for both men.
Going toe to toe I still think Cotto would take him. He's got more fire power. Maidana might hit harder, but Cotto's left hook is too fast, and he'd land it at will.
True. Now only is Cotto's left hook fast, but he's a more accurate puncher compared to Maidana's looping punches.
i think it would be simlar to the torres fight at the end of the day cotto by k.o.
That's how I imagine this fight being played out too...sadly we'll never actually witness it..
I'd pick Maidana in a toe to toe sluggfest with Cotto, taller, can punch & to me is tougher!!But in a real boxing match Cotto has the skill + the power to beat Maidana's power alone!!
If Maidana stood and traded with Torres hed have been knocked unconscious.
Yup, Torres didn't have much, he did have power and underrated handspeed. He's someone you don't stand and trade punches with.
