Poll coming up.
I scored it 118-110 to Mosley giving only the 7th and 10th rounds to Mora. 2 of the rounds I gave to Mosley were close and could have went the other way and I wouldn't complain (3rd I think, and the 11th). I thought the best case scenario for Mora on a sane scorecard was 116-112 for Mosley.
How did you score it?
these people don't know how to score fights for shiit

Mora was landing his jabs and lead rights pretty well all night. Mosley barely threw any punches. One aspect people mistakenly always put into play is a fighters power. They just assume every punch they land is a bomb just because it was clean. Not accusing you of doing so, but I'm guessing this is the mentality everyone had in play while watching this fight. Mosley is known as a big puncher, right? People forget he's moved up in weight to fight a bigger man, who normally fights at middleweight, which ultimately means Mora's punch resistance is much better against a smaller guy in Mosley, although Mosley is still a hard puncher for his weight. Basically what I'm getting at is that people think that for every hook or power shot landed by Mosley, clean or not, equals about 6 punches from Mora, power shots or not. I don't agree with this sort of scoring mentality. At least I'm explaining why I think Mora one instead of being biased like some might do.
I mean in the first 5 or so rounds. Yes Mosley had way more power but didnt show it in those rounds other then some windmill misses. Whenever Mora was not right in front of him, mosley didnt throw and when they got close, mora clinched. The fact that Mosley simply has power and Mora doesnt, shouldnt immediatly give him the round.
Of course not, did you even read my post?
What did Mora show? Pretty much he could clinch, and run. That's it.
I honestly saw nothing really decent in the first 4 rounds Mosley. He looked confused and couldnt figure Mora out
Compared to what Mora landed it was decent. Sure he was confused and couldn't figure Mora out. Mora's great job at clinching and running does not give him rounds though.
How does power not come in to play when scoring rounds? I like watching Paulie and Calderon fight and they get credit when they land numerous jabs, throw a flurry, back out, avoid punches. I, and most judges, also don't give them rounds if they take a couple big shots even if they dish out a bunch of jabs. Power should always play a role in scoring.

Mosley wasn't doing much, but it was clear he was landing some decent shots. They were difficult to see because they were inside but Mora did nothing in those "exchanges".

How does power come into play in those rounds? Just because a fighter doesnt have great power doesnt mean he didnt deserve the round. Otherwise Calderon and Paulie would have never won a fight

Mosley was doing nothing at all. Yes Mora was running a bit and throw some weak punches but that is better then doing nothing at all

Mora did nothing but run and hold early in the fight. He has no power so the few clean punches he did land were not enough.

He was landing some decent shots early, nothing great, but it was much more effective than what Mora was doing.

Dude cmon, i dont know if you were watching a bad stream but in the early rounds, Mosley landed NOTHING at all.
I watched the HD HBO PPV broadcast on my 50 inch tv. I could see it very clearly and I never score based on what Lampley, Lederman, or the crowd says. Were you watching a stream?
Yes he was more aggresive but unless Mora was right in front of him, Mosley didnt even throw. And Mora was almost never right in front of him.

It took like 5 rounds until i saw Mosley land a good clean punch.

For example DLH was the MAJOR aggressor in the Floyd fight, but that alone didnt justify him the win, and rightfily so
Floyd lands real, hard, clean shots. You can't compare his performance in that fight to Mora.
5 out of the first 6 rounds Mosley was clearly the more aggressive fighter, landed more shots, and Mora did nothing but run, throw an occasional weak jab, and have a couple decent punches he threw clearly get blocked. It wasn't even competitive. In those rounds all Mosley had to do was land a couple solid jabs to win but he landed a little more than that.
I could see why Mosely was disappointed with his own performance. There were times he could have done better, and he should have fought dirtier honestly. I think he could beat Mora at his own game.
I'm not gonna re-watch that. It was torture enough watching it live.

I'm not really a Mosley fan at all and i think that he clearly won the fight. I can't see how you can give Mora pretty much a single round. I want to see the punch stats.
watch the fight again, turn off the sound. i had it 115-113. you could even tell how mosley reacted when merchant asked him if he's satisfied w/ the draw decision
Yea that really stood out to me. Larry was talking to Mosley like he just destroyed Mora but when he asked if Mosley thought the draw was justifiable, Mosley pretty much said yes
If a fighter doesnt think he won, he knows he was lucky to get a draw

Yup i totally agree. Its obvious that people really like Mosley and wanted him to win and gave mosley like 9 or 10 rounds.
I really like Mosley but i try to make a scorecard as unbiased as i can and i had it 115-113 or 114-114 Mora. The draw was no suprise to me
awesome stuff.
kudos. you know your boxing, homie. green k at ya.
there is noooo way in hell u can give this fight to mora honestly please just tell me your all kiding around ..did u see lampley after the fight /???"this fight was not a draw shane mosley won this fight "
yep. it wasn't pretty at all. Considering Mosley's career...and giving him a slight edge...
114 - 114 is pretty much the exact result it should've been.
but without the "name", Mora wins this fight SD 115-113 2 judges, and 114 - 114 the third.
