Time for Miguel Cotto to speak up!

Seriously, I haven't seen a word come out of his mouth about any of these potential opponents being kicked around for him. Last thing I heard Cotto say about his next fight was in the the post-fight interview after Foreman: "Only big names". That was it. 1. Sorry, but out of the 2 names being thrown around the only one that is a "big" name is Chavez...and that is all he is: a name with no credibility as a top tier opponent yet. Sure, could chavez win? Anything could happen, but again at this point he is just a name and not much more. 2. What in the world does Cotto have to gain fighting either Martirosyan or Cintron? Martirosyan I can sorta see a *little* gain, as in taking a zero from another up-and-comer, but at this point in Cotto's career risking future rematches with Margs or Pacman or Mosley or matches with Berto, Angulo, etc to fight a no-name fighter like Martirosyan seems like an uneccesary risk with little benefit if he wins. 3. Kermit Cintron, while mentally weak, is a pretty dangerous opponent for Cotto to face and I see absolutely nothing to win and everything to lose in that fight. If Cotto won, he just beat a guy who jumped out of the ring against Williams and got his ass beat by Martinez only to get a draw somehow...what benefit is it to Cotto to fight Cintron? I see none. But he sure would have a hell of a lot to lose! I think it is time for Cotto to actually speak up and say something regarding what he wants. He said he wants "only big names and big fights". The onyl opponent being kicked around that would fit the bill is Chavez, even though I think out of the three names being kicked around Chavez is actually the least threatening. But he IS a big name and it would be a "big" fight, even if not competitive. Last I remembered cotto's never taken a "tune up" fight Whats wrong with him taking one? Either ways 154 is looking ****t with the lack off drawers.No matter who he fights theyre bringing the same. Angulo turned down 750k i dont know why,kermit the frog leaped out of the ring,chavez layed an egg,kirkland who?,vanes is playing caballero,martinez and williams locked themselves in a phone booth,laras doesn't deserve it more then any of those guys,and the rest off the division is so so.its just not the right matchups now.i don't blame cotto for taking a warm up with a decent opponent.

WTF???? Do u really believe Lara (a guy with 13 fights) and Mike Jones (a guy who has not faced quality opponents or very good fighters in his entire career) can beat Cotto? Kirkland? C'MON the guy is in prison and has not fought in over a year. U said Williams is shot but what about Cotto. Cotto has taken a lot more punishment through his entire career than Williams and U KNOW IT. Angulo vs Cotto is a fight i want to see and the same thing with Martinez. But u are forgetting the fact that Angulo lost to Cintron, a guy that everybody loves to call him p*ssy. how does that feel? And from what i heard Williams and Martinez a goin to fight each other @ a BS catchweight for the middleweight titles. I will wait for ur response sucker....... Fights against Lara and Jones I'd probably have to slightly favor Cotto against. The Kirkland that fought before getting locked up would've fucked Cotto over. I'd have to see Kirkland fight before I'd say who should be favored in that one. But Angulo, Martinez, and P-Will are all locks to beat Cotto in my opinion.

It's simple. Arum and Steward know Cotto can't beat guys like Martinez, Angulo, P-Will (unless he is shot like he has looked like lately), Kirkland, Lara, Mike Jones, so they are gonna try to milk Cotto and have him face the bottom feeders like Vanes, Desert Eagle Cintron, and Chavez Jr. WTF???? i can kinda understand why Cotto would entertain a Chavez fight...it could be easy money for him and would draw a huge crowd however, i agree in that matchups with Berto and Angulo would be much better I agree. But it seems like Berto has know idea what he wants to do. And still can't believe Angulo turned down the Martinez fight. Angulo-Cotto is defiantly the fight I want to see. Kermit and Vanes should fight for the Mr. irrelevant title.
