Hopefully he was smart enough to set it at something small like $10,000 HAHA.
What do you guys think? Floyd is the master after all so it pays to learn from the best.
Actually Pac didn't make Cotto lose 1 pound, it was Cotto who said he would fight Pac at 145. After Pac destroyed Hatton, Mosley and Cotto name were being thrown around as possible opponent for Pac. Cotto came out saying that he would love to fight Pac but the lowest he can go is 145. If it's 145 than he would have no problem fighting Pac, anything lower then that than and he can't do it. I don't understand why some people keep saying it was Pac that made Cotto come down to 145 LOL. Roach wanted the fight to be at 142-143 but Cotto wouldn't budge so they took the Cotto offer at 145.
thats B.S why are you lying?
I remember that drama before the contracts were signed and the fight almost not happening. Cotto even said he would vacate his belt because he didn't want to defend it at a catchweight
Firs of all Floyd was 21 months off ,not 2 years.
Second WTF you talking about?
You said consistently, and Pacquiao had only 1 fight at catchweight!
You are delusional on another level.
Pacquiao made Cotto lose 1 more pound then he had in fight before that,Floyd made midget JMM go up 11 pounds
11 POUNDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

anybody know the overweight penalty for this fight?
if it is 10 mill per pound then forget it the fight aint happening
I don't think anyone has mentioned the penalty if there is one. If it's small he can just give up the BS vacant title and show up like Joan Guzman and weigh 160lbs with another 24hrs to rehydrate into a Super Middleweight for ****s and giggles.
Should really change the betting odds if something that wild were to happen.
Doesn't matter what he chooses to weigh in at, he is still getting an ass beating... Most likely a quick ass beating, since I think Pac takes him out early. Margarito isn't going to become some defensive genius over night, though he does roll with his head a bit but he doesn't really block shots or try to avoid punches. This should be called Pacquiao vs Hatton 2. :boxing:
I'm not counting on a ko.I would say Margarito has a much better chin than Pac's recent opponents.I would say Pacquiao by decision. If there is a stoppage,it would probably be a late one....who knows.
i agree with that for every time somebody wants to weight drain their opponents but none the less **** resto.
marg will be weight drained??? he fought most of his fights at WW. or ur just dumb..
You hater can't never run out of excuses. It was Oscar who runs that show and Pac moving from 135 up to 147 doesn't matter to you. Pac from 147 after the Oscar fight moved down to 140 just to fight Hatton also doesn't count to you. But Floyd asking Hatton and JMM (cheated at the scale) to move up in his weight division are by far worst than meeting them at the middle but you don't say anything about it, so FUUCK YOU!
Excuses??????
Is it an excuse that Oscar had track marks on his arms because he attempted to get fluids back into his body because he was so fvcking drained???
Is it an excuse when Manny's trainer chooses Oscar because Freddie himself says "Oscar is gunshy and past it"?
Is it an excuse when currently 2 out of Manny's last 3 fights are against fighters at a catchweight ( one which favours himself) FOR A BELT?
As for the Floyd fight with Hatton-don't start.Hatton had ballooned up so massively between fights that he earned the name Ricky FATton...you tell me,is it easier to make 147 or 140 for him????? After he got ko'd by Floyd,he went back down to 140 where he almost got ko'd a few times against Juan Lazcano!!!! He only looked good fighting Paulie because he could walk through Malignaggi's feather duster punches (note that Paulie is a dream fight for people who have been ko'd or have glass chins. He has NO power and is essentially a one handed fighter...Khan fought him,as did Ricky). You guys keep twisting sh1t around as well....don't you remember Ricky as the one calling out Floyd (saying his fight with Castillo was more exciting than Floyd's whole career)?
Someone had to give him a shot moving up divisions, why not Floyd-especially when Hatton was getting mouthy and begging for the fight.
All in all,my problem with catchweights are when they are for belts-Floyd's only catchweight fight with Marquez had not one belt on the line.
And tarnish his image even more?
Nah, play the game by the rules get your payday and beating to go with it and call it a night...
The bigger the villain he becomes the more he can sell tickets and PPV due to the haters. I recommend him coming in at 154lbs to piss Roach and Manny off and knock them off their gameplan. Make it a toe to toe brawl with some taunting thrown in for effect. Great entertainment.
Jose Luis Castillo was the master at the weight cheating game. He pulled that sh*t twice against Diego Corrales.
Margarito should do it just to get a rise out of that jackass Roach. There's no way in hell this is fight is getting cancelled. The 3 extra pounlds means that Margarito can probably come in as big as 167lbs vs. Pacquiao's 150 on fight night.

You idiot-this is Manny's second consecutive title shot for a belt at a catchweight. How you try to make it seem acceptable is more delusional than anything I have heard.
If Cotto's 1-2 pounds wasn't going to make a difference to sweat off for Manny's team-then why not have Cotto fight for the belt at the limit (remember, the fight almost got called off because Cotto didn't feel comfortable fighting at that weight for his title)?????In fact, every other fight recently involved with Pacquiao has had some issue with weight-3 out of his current 6 (2 for title shots)!!!!
Yes,Floyd was off for nearly 2 years (3 months from 2 years) and fought Marquez at a catchweight from a lay-off for a NON-title fight.I would have preferred him to fight someone else, but again, why take the toughest fight after such an extended period of inactivity??? It was a return fight, nothing more, nothing less.Let's not forget that Freddie and Ariza want Marquez at WW (the weight you agree he doesn't belong).
Jose Luis Castillo was the master at the weight cheating game. He pulled that sh*t twice against Diego Corrales.
Then Chico pulled that sh*t in his next fight!!!
Seriously though, I don't think it's even crossed Tony's mind to go in weighing more than the reqeusted limit. I think he'll be comfortable at the 151lb max. Whether he wins or loses, I highly doubt that it will be because of the catchweight.
He was a career WW and made those weights without problems for the most part until his last two fights there. Those 4 extra pounds are a big difference. They seem like nothing to us, but to a boxer, it's like 10lbs.
LMFAO! I guess that guy you responded to didn't realize that weight played a major part of it being competitive.I guess he also didn't realize that Oscar wasn't allowed to rehydrate after the weigh in due to a stipulation in the contract stating that Oscar was to weigh no more than 147 on the night of the fight! Even Manny outweighed him....
If weight was no issue, they wouldn't have included that as a part of the contract.Freddie Roach knew that Oscar was indeed past his best days,"gunshy" and they made the weight stipulation just to give themselves a further advantage....
Honestly,if Cotto's 1-2 pounds didn't make a difference, then why the hell ask for him to sweat it down????? Because, it in fact,DOES make a difference....just for the record, in the last 2 years, Margarito has fought and lost by ko 1 out of 2 times by the time him and Manny get in the ring....He was last at WW a year and a half ago....
Freddie and Arum want the "buffet" of advantages over the opponents or they wont let Manny fight!

weight had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of that fight. for one example you use i can use 3 examples to counter that. it was oscar's age & expiration date as a elite & proper fighter that did oscar in.
prime de la hoya stuggled with a past prime coked out whitaker.
U must be high or out of ur mind!
How does that change what Pac CONTINUES to do????? Wow, you bag out Floyd for having 1 fight against a smaller opponent in a return match from a 2 year hiatus from boxing, yet Manny has been doing this consistently as of recent years.Shows how there are different standards for some fighters,eh?

NACHO BERISTAIN said to JMM that fight should be off after Floyd cheated only 2 pounds.
But JMM was greedy and he took 600 000 and Floyd showed up at super middleweight next day at 161
You dont need to fight your opponent if he fails to make weight.
