Margarito isn't coming off a long lay off, he just fought Garcia in May. A very undamaging fight .
how did margrito look on that fight?
good? top fighter?
Roach is doing his job....he is protecting his fighter and maximising his chances of winning-----> this all equals more money....the end goal of everyone involved in the sport. Not going to begrudge a trainer for doing his job well (their is a reason he is in demand). However it would be nice if the retarded fans on this board recognised that Manny's opponents were selected very carefully.
Hatton, ODLH, Cotto and Clottey are all left hand dominant fighters with 3 out of the 4 having slow feet and needing to set to throw. 2 out of the 4 fought at a catchweight. Again 2 out of the 4 had come off brutal losses, and in Cotto's case a brutal "win" over Clottey aswell.
Margarito coming off a long layoff and a brutal loss to SSM and also @ a catchweight, and again he has slow feet. Still IMO he is a bigger challenge to Manny than the 4 that preceeded him.
Margarito isn't coming off a long lay off, he just fought Garcia in May. A very undamaging fight - If anything, he's as fresh as can be for Nov. And to analyze further, the catchweight might be a plus for Margarito cuz we all know he's a natural welterweight, or at least has spent the better half of his career at welterweight. So he's making the transition down slowly after fighting Garcia at 154 - Pac has to come up, and use 10 oz gloves on top of that. People are really underrating this fight, it's going to be very entertaining.
But with all that said, any fight other than Pac vs Mayweather is quite frankly a disappointment.
Secondly, to the thread starter, this video is really irrelevant since they agreed to fight Mayweather at 147 in March...also Cotto beat Mosley, so your logic, still irrelevant (concerning Margarito). But I get what you're doing - don't worry, Mayweather ain't going to jail.

Boxing is a business,if you can take less risks and wrap cotton wool on some people and make them believe your fighter is the best then you will do it.Manny aint nothing in boxing,so far he has only fought Clottey at 147 and no one else.Cotto had to starve,DeLaHoya had to come with only one leg to make 147 and now Margarito will have to come wthout an arm for a 154 fight. We all know these guys refused to fight Mosley unless he chopped both of his arms off and they wouldnt fight Mayweather unless Mayweather was willing to overlook the 'vitamins' issue. You really call that little thing the best?I beg to differ
I think Roach has developed a certain skill when it comes to cherry picking. This is because he stuck around for too long and it damaged his health. This gives him a "sixth sense" if you will. He's extremelely good at seeing when a fighter is in decline and cherry picking them after brutal losses. And then making it a catchweight fight to add insult to injury.
Morales after losing every round to Zahir Raheem
Hatton after being brutally KO'd by Mayweather
Cotto after being destroyed by a guy with bricks in his gloves
Margarito after being brutally KO'd by Mosley
Several examples of Roach's cherry picking. And this has to put Pacquiao's resume into question. He has beaten alot of good fighters. But how many of them were in their dominant prime? Ok Barrera but who else? Marquez. But you could argue that Pacquiao lost both of those fights.
However, Roach's cherry picking will continue. You can be certain of that.
(The video was before they drained Cotto to 145)
They want to drain Mayweather like they did with Cotto??? Good luck with that!!
They will fight Clottey at 147, but not Cotto. They will fight Margarito at 150, but not Floyd at 147. Basically they are picking and choosing guys they can beat and draining and looking for advantages to beat the ones who can actually beat Pacquiao.
Great Heroes? Great Warriors? Nah.. just opportunistic pricks.
